you know, i have read this in a magazine, is it true that in the japanese version of FF4, you can get an item called the porno book? i think it has something to do with the secret programmer room.

IS IT TRUE? and if it is, can you read the book in the game? does it contain porn?

Yes, it's true. You can get that item in FF4j and FFIV PSX. Square seems to like having some hints to dirty magazines, as there's references to them in FFV, FF6j, FFVIII and Seiken Densetsu 3. The porn magazine has no uses in the game, though if you use it as an item on the field, the character sprite you're currently controlling looks around to make sure nobody is watching you read the magazine. :p Then the screen goes purple and Dancing Calbrena music begins to play, and Cecil says "Whoa! I'll go blind!" That's about it. I like using it just before the final battle against Zeromus. You know, everyone is mentally preparing themselves for the last battle to save the world, and as a true Paladin, Cecil prepares himself by... opening up a porn magazine! :D

I don't know how many threads I've started on this same topic. I always want to know if it serves a purpose, if you use it in a certain place, or give it to a certain person, or whatever.

My party has half a dozen "Smut" in their inventory...right up top.

Kishi's right. Anyone who tells you otherwise should be truncheoned in the face right away!

NO! If you go and fight 99 pink puff battles in a row (need 99 Alerts to do this) and then go to Cecil's bedroom and use the smut at his table, then you get Tellah ressurrected with 999 mp and 255 magic power! Not to mention, you get the super elite Ultima Sword for Cecil!

No joke, do it! It TOTALLY works.

wow! it really works!this ive got to see."sarcasm ends"what a stupid idea well at least you did a more realistic way to revive tellah than the aeris theorys and also picked a better character to revive than aeris.

He actually is the mutated by-product of Cecil's naughty business. It's because the Pink Puffs give off an invisible aura of radioactive micro-waves that caused Cecil's manhood to produce irregular oddities. But it takes a lot of them to do it. Hence, the 99 battles.

Ex freaking Dee!

In the Japanese version, Cayenne's "Book of Secrets" is a porno mag.

Really? Cyan has two books, both on mechanical stuff--was there just one book in the Jap version, or was one of 'em the porn and one the mechanical book?

Actually, in FFIII (US), the description for "Books" reads as: "Simple book on machinery... And 'Book of Secrets'". So, as Kishi said, the "Book of Secrets" was a porno mag in the Japanese version.

Here's the real funny part about the joke: you find it in the programmer's room.

It serves no purpose...it's just there for a cheap laugh.
