PS2 RPGs

Well Im slowly coming to grips with the fact that I have neither the time or the money to play every good RPG :cry: But as far as my ps2 RPG collection is concerned its pretty sad.All I have is FF X and X-2, AND Champions of Norath wich I dont realy count.

Im gussing Star Ocean is a good buy although Ive heard some people say it got boring for them, any suggestions for say the top 5 PS2 RPGs I should try and buy? Your suggestions are much apreciated.

If you can find at least 2 of these games, you're in the right way. One more thing: maybe these aren't THE BEST PS2 RPGs, but I found them very fun and entertaining.

just a heads up, xenosaga ep1 has a LOT of plot, while star ocean has a LOT of gameplay, so if u get both, ur sure to hit the spot ;) lol

this game is so freaking amazing. fun storyline. neat-o characters. awesome graphics. its funny. it has an amazing battle system! tons of fun sidequests. i guarentee you will love this game, and it takes place during world war 1. this is the absolute greatest game on the face of the earth and if you don't buy it god will hate you. and you will make jesus cry. you dont want that now do you? SO BUY THIS GAME!

SO is good.

Xenosaga is a very cinematic plot driven rpg, like Lon said, so if your into those, that's a good choice.

Really, most of the games people listed up there are your best choices. You can't go wrong with em.

Star Ocean 3 is your best bet
But if you want a more complex and more time-consuming RPG
settle with Dark Chronicle, its the best PS2 RPG, but some dont like it for some weird reason.

Suikoden III is the best PS2 RPG. But wait until winter or spring of 2006. Phantasy Star Universe will arrive and that WILL be the best game ever made.

Aside from all the ones mentioned so far, I would recommend Legaia 2: Duel Saga.

I wholeheartedly agree. The story could've been improved but I absolutely love the system. Not to mention Kazan is friggin' hilarious when he's drunk. xD

I also agree about the Shadow Hearts series. They are definitely some of the best games I've ever played. Seriously recommend playing them in order though so you can get the full effect of the sequel.

Go out and buy Valkyrie Profile for the PSX. You can play it on your PS2. That's close enough, right?

Anyways, if you wait a bit, you can pick up Radiata Stories which is guaranteed to be better than any of the games mentioned here. Except maybe Suikoden 3. :)

Yeah, its an SRPG set in the time of Suikoden IV. It might be showing off events before the events fo SIV. I think this game would be better if it were just called "Suikoden Tactics".
