View Full Version : Guilty Gear Storyline theories (no dweebs allowed, spoilers abound)

I'm gonna explain some stuff I learned from being a hardcore Guilty Gear fan.

The connection between Sol, Dizzy, and Justice.

If you listen to the Drama CDs you learn that Dizzy's mother is Justice. (yes newbs, Justice is a female) Dizzy is of course half human half gear, which means her father had to be a human. One theory draws out the fact that Sol might actually be her father, sence Sol is doing alot to keep her safe. He probably got some of his DNA used in the creation of the Justice gear over 100 years ago, but that's probably not what happened. Playing Dizzy's storymode in X2 she is being attacked by I-No and then in a flash Sol comes and rescues her and brings her back to reality. As Dizzy recovers she has a feeling that she was just near her father just now.

The connection between Faust and Axl to Zappa

Zappa was your average joe who's body go possesed by a female spirit who hates men. That spirit may just be connected to either Axl Low or Faust. When Axl started his time travel running about he left behind a girl in his own time back in the 20th century named Megumi. It is beleived that the spirit that posesses Zappa is Megumi's dead sprit, wroght with sadness of having Axl, the one she loved leave fo years and years.... or maybe. Back in the Guilty Gear era, Faust was a great doctor who can cure many ailments. He was operating on a young woman, she died while she was under Faust's knife, so he went mad from that, changed his name to Dr. Baldhead and went on a mass murder rampage. But then he learns that the girl's death wasn't his fault, so he then went back to being a healer and called himself 'Faust', covering his head with a paper bag becuase of his guilt to nt show his face anymore. The spirit posessing Zappa may as well be THAT girl. Those are the only theories I know about that.

Theory of Axl and Raven

Raven is shown as a servant of "That Man". If you play Axl's storymode you're given a pretty big clue that Raven is actually Axl from the future. After Axl fights and defeats I-No he's confronted by That Man and Raven. Axl's body begins to slip into another time or place as Raven speaks with him. Raven mentions that when two objects of exact same identiy from different times approach one begins to slip away. So in other words, Axl becomes Raven at some point.

Discuss other theories. And no bashing the story because it's fighting game, please.

>>> Those theories make sense.
I have more questions than theories myself.

Like that spawn that possesed Zato`s and then his corpse. is that some kind of gear too?

Justice was destroyed by Sol in the first GG game but after you play GGX2 it seem he was just sealed in another dimension along Kliff.
That was kind of confusing.

And also the main purpose of "That Man" still unclear, he seems to have some interest in Anji and Dizzy, I-no is a servant of "That Man" but she only wanted to destroy Dizzy, I guess she was just jealous because of his boss interest on Dizzy.

It seems Nothing changed after GG Isuka. I hope they develop or give a and end tho this whole thing in the next GG game.

Until it ceases to be COMPLETELY AND UTTERLY TRUE, Joel, so basically when pigs fly and the price of bacon rises so high that Denmark goes bankrupt.

I think that the spawn of Zato (Eddie) along with Millia's hair are gears.

I don't think Justice was destroyed by Sol. I think it's impossible to officially 'kill' Justice. What I think happened was that sence Justice was made by That Man he has some sort of controll over her. This also explains why he has interest in Dizzy. Sence Dizzy is the daughter of Justice AND is half human he's probably looking for a way to use her as a weapon. I'm guessing That Man kept his eyes on Anji because he was probably TOO curious about Gears, plus he's one of the only Japanese left alive, along with May and Baiken. The only gears that are actually free from That Man's control are Sol and Testament.

I can also explain a long theory that can actually proove that Venom is gay.

>>> They seem to be the only 2 "official" remaining gears out there,
Testament doesnt trust humans, Dizzy has lot of power but she dont know how to deal with it, its obvious he wants to protect her also they arent under Justice influence anymore so they just want to live a peaceful life..

>>> Yeah, Venom`s story mode was the love story the game needed. :D

I would like an explanation of why there are rock and roll witches and characters with giant swords please.

(And that's a serious question, please, explain why the characters are just so freaking weird O_o)

Erdrick Holmes

It's just the way they're designed. Daisuke Ishiwatari is a rock and rol fan and he gave every character in the game at least one reference to rock and roll.

All I know, is that these "gears" are going to be banished to their "gear" world eventually, and 1000 years later, some imperial soldiers and a witch are going to go to a mining town up north to uncover a frozen "gear." :rolleyes2

A fighting game's storyline is about as valid as an RPG's storyline.

I wish people would quit being biased towards fighting games.

Um. Grand Theft Auto?

I suppose it's plausible for a fighting game to have a story, but I heard a quote once that goes along with how I feel about them: "Plots in video games are a lot like plots in porn - they're there, but not necessary."

I wish I could attribute this quote to someone but I can't find it at the moment.

Erdrick Holmes
07-12-2005, 12:21 AM
Well, if you can't have a plot in a video game, why have no plot in movies, or books?

Shoeberto
07-12-2005, 12:25 AM
I'm not saying it applies to all games, but ones where the enjoyment comes moreso from playing the game (like FPS, RTS, or fighting games) I don't see why there's a big need for one.

Erdrick Holmes
07-12-2005, 12:31 AM
Well, there has to be a backstory to the characters, why they're fighting, etc. I don't see why a fighting game deserves a storyline any less than an RPG or any other game.

I was doing a little searching and I thought this was too awesome to not post.

An even lower form of life than the spod, found in much the same habitat as the former. though more prevailent on talker systems. Unlike spods, upon receiving the desired response to the question "Are you male or female?", dweebs will then engage upon a detailed description of themselves and how wonderful they are, often in the hopes of truly impressing the other with their "charm" and "wit". Nearly all dweebs are male, but very few actually live up to the image that they present. Dweebs, unfortunately, are often the cause of ill-will, and may well bring a bad reputation to the system in question. They are often, however, easy to wind up and can be the source of great mirth to the seasoned user.

I'm not one to read too much into plotlines, be it for an RPG or a fighting game, but since I haven't played much Guilty Gear I can't really comment on how much this is just retarded bullcrap, like people searching for tiny details that would prove each Final Fantasy takes place on the same world, and how much it's simply an examination of the more complex portions of the Guilty Gear storyline.

[...] [L]ike people searching for tiny details that would prove each Final Fantasy takes place on the same world[.]
You just made me laugh, 'cause I remembered all the people who spent hours theorising that FFX-2 was the past of FF7, someone wrote several pages of posts on GameFAQs. I gave up reading it after about the first paragraph, since it was just too funny to carry on with.

I understand what you're getting at. I think why people don't see a need for a deep story in a fighting game is because they're designed to be multiplayer games. Multiplayer-oriented games don't really need stories to go with them. They could've provided a history of what's going on in de_dust, but would people have cared?

Maybe them thar Japanese developers see a need for it, but if you're wondering why people don't see a need for stories in fighting games, well, there's a possible explanation.

Yeah, like how Sol's fighting stance is a reference to the way a certain Queen member holds their guitar, or so I've heard.

I was wondering about Necro and Undine though. WHY are they attached to Dizzy? Is it because of her nature? I just can't seem to figure it out. It seems like they've just taken her over for some reason. I mean, look at all her Overdrives, for instance.

Erdrick Holmes
07-12-2005, 01:14 AM
Necro and Undine are pretty much part of Dizzy with their own set of thought who pretty much wo what they can to protect Dizzy. Becuase if she dies, they die.

I know nothing about the GGXX Storyline so i like to keep reading, so please stop spamming about those kinds of useless stuff like you Lindy, take it elsewhere its really derailing the thread and lowering my opinion of you more -_-

Is there an actual story guide somewhere about this? Like orochi.com about SF and KoF?

I wish that site would elaborate more on the connection between Sol and Dizzy.

I'll bet by the time GGX3 is finished they'l finally show off who "That Man" is.

You've been here long enough to know not to double-post.

I just beat all of the storymodes on X2 #R and I came to a few conclusions.

"That Man" is probably a former memeber of the United Nations
"That Man" and the Postwar Administration Burau might be working together
"That Man" might actually be thinking he's doing good to the world and he might not even be human anymore (or ever)
Slayer is probably connected with That Man sence he sort of acts as if he can predict the future on events in the world.
