Though I cant play this game when I get my computer "pimped up"I'll install it and I was wondering what would be a good job for a male Hume.

Beastmaster immediately comes to mind as a good job for Humes - you'll need to be well rounded when you're on your own, and a nice blend of HP, Str, Vit, and Chr, as well as survivable MP with a Whm sub make Humes ideal for the job. Beastmasters live by their Chr when they charm mobs, and Humes are one of the best in this regard.
Humes also make good Paladins, because they have decent HP, Vit, and MP. You'll have the MP for ample self curing, and the Vitality to outlast a Taru.
Any race can be a Bard, and Humes aren't completely lacking in /whm MP for what it matters. Not that parties are inviting you to backup heal, but you'll have the MP to use a post battle Curaga now and then. Hume Chr is one of the best.
Humes have the strength and accuracy to make Samurai work. Samurai isn't about putting out the numbers like a Dark Knight or Ranger (though numbers help a lot). It's more of a melee support job. A Samurai is only as good as the player is at optimizing the jobs available in a party to put together multiple effective skill chains. Humes can gain TP with the best of them.

Humes can really play as anything they so choose. Mage jobs to melee jobs they are an overall class that is good at most everything. They're not the BEST at everything but they certainly can hold thier own. Everything about them is ok its just that they don't excel as say a Elvaan WAR *they have better STR and more HP etc* but they certainly can do anything they want to.
choose wisely! lol

Its like what everyone said, you can be anything, you just wont be the best in all of them, however you wont be the worst as well.

RDM, much like Humes, is good at everything, which makes it perfect. :)

Actually because of the HP MP Ratio of Tarus, RDM is best suited to Tarus once again.

Humes don't excel at things like the other races. A Tarutaru BLM has better INT and MP. A Galka WAR has better HP, STR, and VIT. If you plan on sticking with certain types of jobs due to preferences, such as primarily leveling mages or melee, I'd go with other races. If you plan on variety and playing different kinds of jobs, Hume is good because you'll never completely suck at any of them.
Actually because of the HP MP Ratio of Tarus, RDM is best suited to Tarus once again.
Tarutaru have the lowest MND though. Base MP isn't such a huge deal for RDM, at least not later on. I think Hume makes the most out of all the RDM's capabilities.

Its not base MP, many RDMs strive to get the better Convert ratio and Tarutaru can achieve that without much MP and HP gear. They can then focus their gear on something else like INT or MND. MND isnt as important after enfeeb or spider torques with ele staves, so INT is better for more MB power. Tarutaru will excel in RDM because their ratio is almost 1:1 HP to MP and can focus on other things. Base MP is nothing. Its because of this they are most efficient. It has been proven that Taru is best at RDM.

I once read that all classes are good for hume seeing how they are balanced...

Is a Monk ok for a Hume?

Again they aren't the best at being a MNK but they are certainly okay at the job. Thats the thing they're only Okay but they can handle any jobs thrown at them better than any other race in the game. Thats why if you plan to switch jobs later on a lot and start jobs etc they're the best race to do it with because it really doesn't affect them at all.

Well i wouldnt say they will do the best out of every job, they will always be say..B- good at something, because even if you try to outpull your STR up say...a Galka or Elvaan with same gear and push forward more. But however race should not be your concern, i was only being technical because you asked, but race itself is not important as long as you equip yourself right and research and play effectively.

Certain races have natural advantages when it comes to certain jobs. But ANY race can play ANY job well, if they're willing to put in the effort. Seriously.
I'm a much better white mage than some tarus I've met. And I've met some really great Galka mages too. Sure Tarus have a larger MP pool, but I have the gear and the food to make up for the difference.
Player ability matters more than race ever will.

Oh yeah btw race only really matters when you fight certain HNMs, that few 200 HP there for 100MP there matters a whole lot more than you think. Its around higher levels vs those tough HNMs that race matters. Not that a Taru PLD or a Galka WHM wont work vs them too, but its just that much tougher sometimes and can cost the entire LS wipe of that person with a race disadvantage is unskilled at conserving MP and/or bad at controlling(not getting all the hate you want, it means being able to make it so another tank can take the hate, while the mages are not hit, as well as being able to take the hate back easily keeping up the hate ladder, the most hate does not mean controlling hate) hate. But for normal exp and most other things, yeah race is unimportant.

i think that you should be whatever job you want for your race, because one of the best tanks i have ever had was a taru warrior, its the player behind the character that matters. Just because a taru is a mage, or a mithra is a their it doesnt mean they are any good at that job.
