Is it difficult? Off hand I'm thinking I need to edit boot.ini, then there's the registry references to $winnt, but what specifically I do not know.
What else, or is it just too tedious to do?
ps: I want to change my windows directory from windows.0 to windows. Stupid autoinstaller.

I don't recommend it. There's too much stuff you'll need to change manually.

It's as easy as doing a fresh install :p

If XP had symlinks, it'd be as easy as "ln -s windows.0 windows". In fact, there may be such a thing, I'm gonna check it out and post the result. edit: tried the UNIX services for windows, and well, symlinks only work within the shells that come with it, not the regular xp command line. So it's useless here.

If it was symlinked though, then it'd look like you have two instances of the Windows folder :p

He could delete the old one before making the symlink :p
