Sinéad O'Connor - "Nothing Compares 2 U" (http://www.savefile.com/filehost/files.php?fid=9761713)

Next to Grace Jones, Sinéad O'Connor is my favorite singer.
Whenever she sings, you can truly feel her aching.
"Nothing Compares 2 U" is one of the mot successful songs of the 90's.
Anyone remember the year of 1990? If you do, you certainly recall how big the song was back then.
Download the song and then, post your thoughts.

This is a classic, albeit one I find a bit disheartening.
I prefer the others songs of hers you posted :D

Sinead O'Connor I can agree with. Unfortunately, I can't put the accent on the e because I'm on a Sun computer at work, and I don't know how to access the ASCII map for it. ;_;

90's music is more or less all the same. just like 80's music and current music. that song is a cover of a prince song if i remember correctly. i've never geard the original. and yes, i remember 1990 (even tho i was 5 most of the year).

Haha, thanks for posting the song. I've been looking for it for a while.

Unfortunately, I don't think I remember it in 1990 because I was around 5-ish then. Yay kindergarten. (I think...) Anyway, I love this song because you can feel the emotion in her voice... X3

Heh, I was ten back then. I remember my mom bought the album and just kept rewinding the song over and over. So the song is burned into my brain forever and ever. :P

It's a Prince cover. Nothing of her own material has been anywhere near as successful. don't like the attention whore myself.

I remember that song, my mum used to listen to it all the time. In the video, those tears are real not fake

I strongly disagree with you on that point; Sinéad O'Connor's music has almost-always been successful, but true nothing has ever managed to follow this specific song. She has had a string of very popluar songs like: Troy, Mandinka, Fire on Babylon, Three Babies, The Last Days of Our Acquaintance and more.

I liked the Prince version more, but it is a great song.

Yes, they were. A close relative (I believe it was her mother) died before she filmed the video, and she was really crying.

I love the song, she has an amazing voice.

I've heard it before. I mean years ago. I will admit that she has a great voice & she can sing well. But it's just not my thing. :)
