I think this is the best FFIX song
Anyone else like it ?

It's a good song, but not the best. Definitely an improvement from FFVIII's world map theme. A calm, beautiful song that uses the Melodies of Life theme.

This one is pretty sweet and for a world map theme, I think it suit well.

You should also try "You're not alone" or "Loss of me" also.

almost all world map themes are crap but the good ones of FF9 are "your not alone." and "dark messanger."and the final battle and so many more but not that one.

You're not alone is the best FF9 music ever.

I don't think I've ever seen anyone call that song "Crossing the Knoll" before, but yeah, it's certainly one of the better songs in the game.

its okay, but "You're not Alone" is far and away the best.

I think it's the best "World Map Theme" out of all the games.

You fools! That silly world map music is barely half as good as Vamo alla Flamenco!
Heheh, I just find the w.map music to be hard to appreciate. I go for the funny ones like Treno and Black Mage Village....and I think the Gulug Volcano music is one of the best in the game too.
Then again, I'm the sort who prefers the cutesy stuff to the deeper stuff, so go figure ¬_¬

Well I wouldn't really describe it as "crappy" but seeing how it's one of the most overplayed songs in the game, you get kind of sick of it after a while. I think the songs that are played less often or even just once in the game like "You're Not Alone" & "The Dark Messenger" are considered gems for just that reason: you don't have to hear them as often, so you don't get sick of them as quickly.

the best world travel theme. then i second FF8's Blue Fields to that.

I used to love wondering around in open spaces just to hear that song!

Eh, I don't like it very much, because, in my opinion, it doesn't really stand out. Especially when compared to toher songs on that soundtrack. It's okay, at best.

That world map song is so bloody irritating, its probly the worst song on the game, next to the battle theme of course, not coz its overplayed, i hated it when i first heard it. The boss battle theme is teh l337 though.

FF9's world map song is called 'Crossing those hills' in the official soundtrack cd.

Very cool song.

Cid's theme is by far the best song in the whole game. Followed by Burmecian Kingdom and Freya's theme.

FF9's world map song is called 'Crossing those hills' in the official soundtrack cd.I do believe it is called 'Over that Hill'.

'The Evil Mist Returns' is a better world map song anyway.

It's good, yeah. Most music on the game is. But I do prefer You're Not Alone, Loss Of Me and Dark Messenger. And Amarant's Theme is pretty good.
