I feel like a total retard because I don't understand this, but I hope you guys can help here. xD

I've been trying to post pictures on this site and others for a really long time, but it will not work like I want it to. The problem isn't that I can't upload them, because that's simple blah blah, but I cannot find a way to resize the pictures. Not one way, on about five different prgrams. I must be missing something, though.

For example, the best I can get is something like this:

And it's really annoying. So any help at all would be very appreciated. But if not, then I lose nothing, so either way. =)

Do you have a recent version of Photoshop? If so I'll guide you through it. It looks like you might be trying to resize in paint which will look very very bad, but can also be done. Let me know.

No, it's not Paint. xD I didn't even think of that.

The only Photoshop that I see on here is Adobe Photoshop Album 2.0 Starter Edition. To be exact. Hm.

You can get GIMP which is an image editing program like Photoshop under the GNU license and totally free. Resizing in GIMP should be no problem. I don't really know how to help when I have no knowledge of the programs you're probably using to try and resize.

I also suggest you do not save images as .BMP for using on the internet :p

Yeah, JPG is probably the way you want to go, although indexed GIFs can be even more web and load time friendly.

PNG > GIF, unless you're doing animations :p

And that's just because MNG isn't nearly as well accepted as PNG.

JPGs should really only be used for photos, but really anything is better than the dreaded BMP.
