Why not? It's their choice what they want to do with their lives. I know a few girls who are gung ho about joining the military. They're just as excited to serve their country like guys can.

:D

Yeah, Women should fight in war.
Its not as if they are forced to join the Army, if they didn't want to be involved in war surely they wouldn't sign up.

Imagining the wartime atrocities that could be committed against female Prisoners of War I don't know if it's such a good idea. However, I don't think it's such a good idea for guys to go to war either.

Then soldiers can harp on about "Women tank drivers!" when a woman just massacres an entire regiment of her own men and crashes into a lamp post.

If they want to, go for it.

Look of Joan of Arc (Ignoring the fact she was lattered burned at the stake, didn't she have a pretty sucessful military career?)

I don't like the idea of women dying in general, but they have as much right to be in a war as men.

Princess_Yuna

Of course they could be better than men!

Women can already fight in the front lines. HOWEVER nobody wants to, and those who do, most of them quit because of the most ludicrous of reasons. Typically women in war exist outside of the front lines.

There's also whether they can pass the requirements :D

lordblazer

the only problem women on the front lines of battle would have is there periods.

Should they be allowed to? Sure, it's their right too. Should they? Hell no. Would it be good if they did? No, it'd probably be worse.

And actually, they aren't allowed to now. They can be in combat zones, but they can't technically be in a combat MOS--a job specifically trained, and expecting, to face combat. Combat Engineers, Infantry, Artillery...no women. They can, however, be Military Police, which in Iraq are doing many Infantry jobs, or things like Medics, which are attached to Combat Engineers/Infantry/etc.

Now, you show me a woman that can carry as much as a male soldier for as far as a male soldier can carry it, can shoot as well as a male soldier, can obey commands without hesitation and do everything else the male soldiers have to do in "usual" combat situations, and I'll welcome her in. But while the PT standards stay so low for females, no way.
