Thoughts on the Archives.

So this popped up during a discussion RSL and I were having about whether or not to archive the "wanker" thread. I brought up the point there were several spam threads that were archived; however, none of them were as long as the one just generated. While he did end up archiving it, he did propose a good question to me, which I would like to propose to you all in turn.

Do you go to the archives and read through 661 posts of spam to get off or something? Do you read the small threads? Large threads? Ones you participated in? Ones which you had nothing to do with? In short, what function do the Archives serve to you? Justify.

The only reason I would go back and read that particular thread is that some of the posts were quite funny. That's usually why I read archive threads. Sometimes I like to see posts from members who are often referenced who left before I even joined, too. I've probably only read about 20 archived threads, though.

I'd go and read it. It might seem completely random to someone who had no idea it was happening, but to the people who were actually doing it, it was hilarious, and pretty much every one of them has said it's their favourite thing they've ever been involved in at EoFF. So i'd keep it, yeah.

Usually I go for the shorter threads or the ones I participated in. The ones from the game forums are always the best.

I sometimes go to the archives if there's anything in particular I want to check. I visit it more than I do FFVIII!

I go to the Archives sometimes when I have time and am a little bored, which isn't very often. There is some good stuff in there, but the Wankers thread is definitely not one of them though and shouldn't be there, in my opinion.
