This topic isn't about whether or not you like them (go post in the EotW Taxes topic instead) but if you ever had to pay them, and how much? Also, mention the sales tax for your state/country.

This year, my income tax is -114 Euros, which means I'll be getting money soon for the Tax services.

In France, sales tax is 19.6% for most goods and services, 5,5% for most foods, for travels, for most spectacles, and for books, and 2.1% for a few other things (most medications for example).

In Ventura County, CA the sales tax is about 7.25%.

I'm not sure exactly how state and federal income taxes are calculated, but it's not a simple matter of course.

Somewhere between 7-8% for town sales tax.

I never knew taxes were so complicated before my dad started his own business, and he has to pay all these weird taxes depending on where he works on airconditioners and stuff xD Like over the river to yell county there's differences, and differences between towns.

Is it oregon that has no state sales tax? I can't remember.

Yeah. People from Washington cross the Columbia River to buy stuff in Portland and nearby towns.

Do they have abnormally taxes elsewhere, then? like property tax or something else?

Very high property tax. But since houses are dirt cheap compared to California and other states, it ends up costing less to live there.

14.5 % sales tax. However, cars and homes are a lot cheaper here.

Sales tax for North Carolina is 7%. I don't pay taxes because I can still be claimed as a dependant. I did my dad's taxes for him this year, and he got over 3000$ back. Yep.

That's where I live. Whoa. :D

It's always stressful at my house when it's tax time. Mostly becuse my dad can get really stupid when it comes to money.

7% Provincial sales tax (Social Services Tax). 7% GST (Goods and Services Tax).

I've never had to pay more for my income taxes and this year I got $1200 back for last year.
