I have a Pentium 3 648mhz with 256mbs of ram and a 10gb HDD. I use a 16X DVD burner to play my DVDs. Yet when I play my dvds, every four seconds or so it skips the audio for about a second. But when I encode my dvds to two fps it plays just fine. It even works just fine when I encode it to DivX Avi. I shall be getting a 80gb HDD next week so I can upgrade my computer. But what else would I need to make the DVDs play properlly? Would more RAM work?

Thanks in Advance.

I think the CPU is your problem, 648 Mhz is extremely slow, especially for video playing. Either that, or your DVD drive is in some slow mode like UDMA2, in which case your motherboard would be a limiting factor. If you're playing straight from the DVD drive, the RAM and HD won't make a difference with your current quantities.

Please tell me that was a typo for 20 fps, because 2fps is not normal for any "animation".

To check what clout said, right click my computer and go to device manager, then find your dvd drive and right click that.
