Cats and dogs are great, because they're soft, and we can pet them and stuff.

However, their fur can be annoying if it covers your house and all of your belongings. Finding a clump of fur on my kitchen floor made me think "What if cats and dogs had no fur? Would we still love them? Because without their fur, I wouldn't want to pet them."

Do you think if cats and dogs had no fur, they would still be popular pets? Or would we just eat them?

There are hairless breeds of both cats and dogs that people keep as pets already.

Yeah, but I don't want anything to do with those. Yuck.

I don't think we'd eat them, but I don't think they'd be half as popular. Like no one keeps opossums for pets.

I love cats, but dogs get on my nerves sometimes. >=O But I like some dogs too. Anyways, they'd probably be less popular but I'd still keep them as pets. :)

If I had a cat or a dog I'd wash him in shampoo at least once every two days because greasy fur left around your house is sick. The question? Ummmm not as much.

My cat finds my hair in his bed, and he has to wash me once a month.

The one thing I like about my cat: She is fluffy and soft for petting/hugging.

I find clumps of my hair in places. Does this mean my parents should shave and eat me?

i have two cats (Nebelung/Russian Blue). very much the same, but Nebulungs have long fur and it jus comes off like cotton. most of the black colored clothes i have will easily attract fur.

Where's leezer when you need her?

Hair falling all over the place is part of the deal. Just train your doggies and cats to not climb on furniture, and all you'll really need to deal with is weekly vacuuming. :D:p:D:p:D:):(

I'd love to have one of the hairless cats. I think they're great, but I would never buy a pet.

My cats have to be outside right now because some people happen to be allergic to them, but when they were inside I would just vacuum everyday. They're worth it.

Hairless animals are still soft. I would like a hairless cat. I almost bought a hairless rat last time I saw one but missed my opportunity and ended up with two hairy brats for rats.

I'd love them anyways, but they're so nice and soft to stroke with fur! <3

I have to admit I don't like the furrless breeds of cats or dogs very attractive. Fur is the essence of animals, they were evolved to wear it, so why should we tamper with what evolution has made them, which is obviously the best choice for survival in the wild. The poor furrless creatures would freeze to death when it's windy, even if the weather wasn't too cold.

But short-haired breeds look a little better. Although they too need something to warm them up when the weather's cold :(
My brothers miniature pincher doggie (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v470/tupsukorva/jiira_2.jpg) has short hair and doesn't mess places up with her fur (but with other things....).

All in all, I don't mind the fur all over the place, because it's worth it to have something so soft and cute/beautiful to look and pet ^^
