(14:31:42) PureGhetto Pika: I'm starting to question the reliability of hot or not
(14:32:02) PureGhetto Pika: cuz I'm getting a 7.5+ rating but most of my rating distribution is 1's and 5's
(14:32:03) PureGhetto Pika: wtf

It's actually 7.3 but the rest of my babble stands. How reliable is it?

At first I thought it wasn't, and I sholud rely on say, what most people vote, but that's a 1. The next is a 5. Then it's probably 2's and 3's which make no sense.

I also know HON is not a good indicator of anything. Hilarious though.

like totally, you know philosophy gets you da hoonies!

[PG]: You do realise that your subjective benchmarks in regards to attractive males are inconsistent, right? What would Socrates say?
[Girl]: WTF I said stay the hell away from me you freak!
[PG]: Right. So have I sufficiently aroused you for us to proceed to copulation?

Isn't it more of a measure of how shallow people are?

Heh. Actually while I was in Iraq, I made a thing on hotornot, and last time I checked I was at 9.1 ... don't know how the hell that happened. The most votes I got were for 8, and though I got plenty for 9 and 10, I also got quite a bit for the rest of 'em. Maybe it's skewed. I don't know how they score it -- it's obviously innacurate, but maybe higher scores carry more weight than lower scores or something. A lot more.

The picture of me was from when I was 18, and I'm with my niece, who was two at the time, and adorable as anything...so that might help it a bit, but not that much.

It depends on how many people give the uglies a 10 and the hotties a 1 just for kicks, I suppose.

Not or Not is great for wasting time, when there's nothing to do to waste time.

You must've typoed 'not or not' because I wanted to see what that was but nothing came up.

;p

I was like a 7.6 haha. But then again, you'd flip through the female pictures and as long as they're wearing skimpy clothing, they tend to get higher scores, even if they were...erm...unattractive. I guess...show some skin!!

This is actually interesting because the way I perceive my body is related to the medium it is perceived through. For example the mirror = great, pictures = eww.

Psychological maybe, or perhaps pictures show the entire image while a mirror is 'whatever you are staring at'.

You're really pretty. On a scale of one to ten, I'd say you're a seven.
