Okay, I lied - I want to get this started now. :p

In case you haven't seen this thread (http://forums.eyesonff.com/showthread.php?t=66775), there's a questionnaire you can take that will spit out which member of EoFF you are most similar to. However, this quiz is very old, and some of the members listed in the poll have come and gone, so I'd like to make a newer version with members today's crowd are more familiar with.

In order to ensure a good cross section of EoFF is represented, I'd like everyone who reads this to nominate a few people to be in the poll. Newbies, oldbies, awkward people like foa who are caught in the middle; banned members, unbanned members, Admins, CKs, spammers, helpers, RedFoxIhaveDaGunICU@0800, and so on.

I think I'd like to keep the finalists in the poll down, maybe around 10-15. So get to it, folks. Nominate in this thread; my PM box is already cluttered with chess PMs as it is. :p

I'll be gone for the weekend (well, I'm around for a few more hours), so I'll take a look and see how this is going Sunday or Monday. :)

Well, this idea sure seems to have taken off - much faster than I had anticipated! Thanks for all the nominations - you all have sure made this a lot more interesting. :D I'm still at work, however, and I may have an hour or so to compile the nominations given into a condensed list before leaving for the weekend. However, the people I do select to be the final "personalities" for the poll will need to put in a little extra time with me (although hopefully not too long :p).

Although I have a general idea of how I want the questionnaire to be structured (quite thorough, the way I have it planned out), if anyone has any suggestions on what to put in it/how to organize it/etc., feel free to post it and I'd be happy to consider it. :)

To put it in more detail, Bleys made up the quiz AND the answers - four for each question - and then told us to reply to him with the answers in the order that we would choose them (in other words, the one that most fits us first and the one that least fits us last). He then made the top one worth something like three points for our result, the second worth two, the third worth one and the last worth none. That's why it's so hard to get clout (I think it was him) as a result on the other one, because he only gave one answer so only has one answer that you'll get any points towards his result on for each question.

Hope that makes sense.

Yeah, I only put down about 5-10 names before I started doing it by type instead of by name, so I think he missed out for that reason.

Either works, I just figure that Baloki is easier to get hold of and more well known to the average EoFFer since Baloki still makes his mark in Site Staff, #eoff, EoFF meetups and the like, while HOOTERS doesn't really do anything to do with EoFF at all these days.

There are so many members that it's really hard to choose a few, but the focus should be on picking out one indiviual for a certain personality. We shouldn't be nominating somebody cause we like them. Pick however many people you want on the poll--as Neel said, around 15. Then pick fifteen fairly unique personality profiles, and choose the member that best fits each one. A lot of people are great members, but aren't really unique enough to warrant getting on the poll.

I did. I tried not to put too low ratings of myself, but I didn't want to put unrealistically high ratings, either. I thought that since every choice would be pretty much 3, with a few 4's, I decided to give my ratings with one decimal. Eventually, all my ratings were between grades 3.1 - 4.2, I think.

Okay, all the algorithms have been figured out (sans actual coding), so now I need questions.
