Fortunately I kicked Distin out after I returned from my holiday. But that's two weeks of points gone to waste, all the same. Looks like I'm in for a long, tough, Newcastle-esque season. :(

I had Phil Neville in the first week, believing him to be a good buy. He was out by the next week.

I can't comment on whether AC or Juve are better as they were both battling for the league throughout the season. But apparently referees are biased in favour of the Notts County lookalikes, I think I read somewhere that they had the least amount of penalties conceeded, but the highest amount of fouls committed.

WRONG. You forgot Sunderland, NUFC's chances of relegation have gone down reasonably.

1 season before Souness came they placed 5th, 2 seasons before, 3rd and the season before that 4th. Souness's 1st season, 14th.

Still, sod deadline day, we made good signings previously in the summer: Crouch has looked influential so far, Sissoko has performed powerfully in the middle and Reina seems to be a solid 'keeper.
