I was wondering if anyone would be intrested in an eyesonff English Premiership fantasy football league on Yahoo?

The link if anyone is intrested is http://uk.premiership.fantasysports.yahoo.com/football

if enough are intrested, I'll create an eyesonff league.

I still maintain that Dudek is Liverpools best keeper.

Well, Psy and I agreed that since Dudek was injured, Reina would play all the games.

My team will do ok in Europe this year, as our group is quite possibly the easiest group in Champions League history. And Ruud van Nistelrooy and Rooney both scored, which will please Del Mordor as he has them both in his team, and he should overtake Czanthor (although Darren Bent of Charlton did score too, and Cz has him). Apparently Jean Alain Boumsong the "amazing" defender was at fault for both goals. (http://forums.eyesonff.com/showpost.php?p=1263166&postcount=105) And the Toon are still without a goal. Let's talk about Liverpool.

Liverpool played fantastically in the finals; but everyone knows they got past Chelsea in the semi-finals by complete fluke in the first place. They have Chelsea in their group again, d'you think they'll be able to pull off another lucky, fluke win? To qualify, even?

And of course, no matter how successful Jose Mourinho may become, every manager, be they Alex Ferguson or Roy McFarland, can claim victory over the man for having done things the honest way. We're all jealous of Mourniho, yes. But only in the same way as we're jealous of the rich kid down the street whose parents bought him a convertible for his birthday. Liverpool v Chelsea a fluke? Semi-Finals like that are played over two legs to prevent flukes. If Chelsea, the champions, cannot put one past us in 180 minutes of football, I think that's skillful defending, not flukery. Liverpool and Chelsea were evenly matched over the two legs, so no, not a fluke, Liverpool had a chance and took it.

If Liverpool had got Arsenal's group, they would qualify with no problems. We get Real Betis and they get FC Thun. Although whether or not Liverpool can overcome Real Betis (I doubt Arsenal could, to be honest) is another matter, although with Rafael Benitez, as a Spanish manager who won the league with Valencia, and Liverpool having several players from Spain, we should have good knowledge of their playing style.

Doc Sark
08-28-2005, 07:07 PM
I think Arsenal would beat Betis without too many problems. They're not that amazing and really overperfomed last season to make it to the Champions league at the expense of other Spanish clubs like Sevilla, Sociedad and Valencia.

Still they'll be a good test of Liverpool's mettle.

I'm with you on the "not a fluke" issue though. Chelsea don't score a goal for 180 minutes, they didn't deserve to go to the final. The goal may have been contentious, but guaranteed Chelsea would have fancied their chances much more at 1-0 with 11 men, than 1-0 with 10.

If Souness stays thats what will happen. You'd have to be blind and stupid to say "Souness is great" bah, he's an idiot, on the verge of wrecking another team.

Even if they go down I refuse to to do what most football fans do: Ditcht he team ahnd go for the currently top team/s.

I wish I hadn't forgotten to switch goalie. xD

EDIT: Shearer smells.

I still think Liverpool can beat Chelsea again. Can they beat AC Milan again, if they ever play them? I think not. <3 Psy

Damn, back down to second again. I knew Ugo Ehiogu would be a mistake.

ps. Liverpool and Chelsea will both qualify, not sure who on top though. Man Utd and Arsenal will to, Rangers will struggle though. And yes, Newcastle do suck Shoden, with or without Souness.

Shoden
08-29-2005, 02:43 PM
lol thats funny.

Before Souness came they were a top 5 premier league team and thats a fact.

I'm not saying anything bad about your teams and I find it horribly unfair that you keep bashing on Newcastle.

NUFC HAVE THE MOST LOYAL FANS FOR THE SAKE OF CHOCOLATE AND SORRY FOR THE CAPS, there i'm done now can we get back to Yahoo's fantasy football instead of bashing Newcastle.

Loyal as in loyal to the team.

Keep bashing and flaming and i swear I'll turn you all into fish!

We're not bashing or flaming, we're having a discussion about who has the most loyal fans :p

I think Celtic and Rangers have the most loyal fans. Although Liverpool have the loudest fans in sport. (no, really, they broke the record for it or something)

I'm being honest, there was a survey carried out about it. 2nd place are Sunderland fans.

You're making an excuse because you don't want to be "Psychotic the fish!"

JJ has fucked off to Spurs.

With a bit more team sorting I'll be able to get some more points.

Hey Shoden, I hear they're offering Michael Owen for 12 points. Why don't you buy him for 17? ;)

Sorry, I couldn't resist. :p

Shoden
08-31-2005, 08:23 PM
I doubt he'd be there because the players and the teams are all done before the Season starts, it's like football games they are done before the season so transfers don't come into the game.

Uh...yes they do. Essien wasn't there at the start but now he is. I think he's now scored a grand total of -1 points.

I bet you one night of pure passionate sex that Michael Owen will be added.

(But you have to pay the night to Del Mordor, he's too embarassed to say anything but I know he wants it ;))

I've been waiting for this Shoden. Almost as long as Newcastle has been waiting for a goal.

this is coming from the guy who raped a stick woman!

I'd rather not, Football is football. Owen isn't in the listings yet, I doubt he will be. There are only premierleague players (I think)

Psychotic you need to stop drinking!

Del Mordor, wtf is with that avi?

and also Psy, why is your avy a bull dog and reindeer genetically altered into a freak of nature intent on destroying existence as it is?

I know what is i asked what is with it.

The chances have been heavily reduced of NUFC relegation. Even if they go down I wont do what most bastards do and support another team like the majoirty of fans of Manchester United, Chelsea and Arsenal (True fans don't take offence). I'll stay with the Black and white army for as long as I can think of.

WRONG!!!!!!!!!

DON'T EVER SAY THAT! Juventus's main coloUrs werent originally black and white.

Newcastle United is known as the black and white army though one of Juventus's strips have the same colours the stripes are thinner and differently laid out. Newcastle United have been Black and white since the team came together in 1892, Even before one of the teams (west end or east end) had black and white.

And Cz, you're 10th now, just 10 points ahead of Shoden...what happened to you?

Well, is either that or Newcastle-itis where you start sucking. It's a combination of that and AFC Overrated-ness. Besides, who would have thought that Sylvain Distin (the backbone of any world-class side) would be injured?

Juventus? Because AC Milan pwnz Juventus.

They pwnz them so much, they even finished lower than them in the league last year.

Michael Owen will be added Shoden, all new players are added, it would be a pretty stupid game if you got to change your team every week but all the players in the premier league weren't available.

Cz, you're asking for trouble with Distin mate, much like I was asking for trouble when stupidly put Phil Neville in my team, only for him to be sent off. Schoolboy errors all round then.

Phil Neville = Worst player ever to play for England/Man Utd and by the looks of it Everton. Keep raising that bar Phil.

XD. Here is something Newcastle have come 2nd in the table several more times than most teams, with wins such as 5-0, 7-1 and stuff that is not sucking. The ability to have Players Like Owen, Shearer, Luque and Legends of the whole country such as Jackie Milburn, Paul Gascoigne and Peter Beardsley that is not what I call a crap club.

I just had to let that all out sometime and Before it would of ended up in something that is absolute b/s so i just posted it now.

To tell the truth In Yahoo football i hardly stick with one team.

I feel like renaming my club to Jesus FC.
