They even released a version of Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo for the SMS. I found a rom for it. That too sucked. Moral: 8-bits don't make good fighters.

Yes but how on earth did they expect to make money on a crappified version of a game on a platform that was 2 generations out of date? Seriously, this would be like someone releasing an SNES cart at the launch of the Gamecube.

People might not know this but the SMS was still popular in Europe, so Midway came up with the idea to make it for the SMS (what other way can you make some green).
Once again everyone can feel free to blame Europe.
