In my opinion: 2003. It had a lot of depth into it (and I'm very aware of that, because I could never finish a game in it :D ) and...well, that's it (I don't have anything more to say, I haven't messed with it in a while...)

2K3 is the best. It has battle sprites. Me like battle sprites.

I was never able to use the RPG Makers I downloaded. There was always something still missing. Either that or I just need an instruction manual. Anyway, I'm just going to buy RPG Maker 3 for PS2 once it comes out.

alright, i got my cave working. but i cant get random encounters yet, but i found a help topic on it, alright.

i cant get people to join my party. like i use the talk thing and what not but i cant figure out what command i need to put in to get them to join.

Rengori

Go to event, make them talk or whatever, do "change party" and add your character. And, because it won't automatically say it, put in a message saying that "so and so has joined our party!"

My favorite is 2000. It's the less limited version. There's lots of material out there you can download and add on to your game. Sure, 2003 looks good in battles, but there isn't very many sprites you can use. You'll have to settle with a few sprites the game alread has or maybe you're lucky to find something you can download. Either way, I suggest 2000, and the battle system can be manipulated to be better there too.

alright, i got people to join my party. this is sooo awsom.

umm.... how do i make tresure chests?

Rengori
08-07-2005, 12:42 AM
Fithos: Make an event, set the graphic to the treasure chest, than make it on the same layer as the hero. After that, simply make a message saying "You got such and such!" and go to change items and add the desired item.

Levian: You can make your own sheets you know.

All of them have their advantages and disadvantages. Dont know em' all but, yeah. Some dont have better lay outs while others have better. I think they are all good and balanced but also focused one style. Like '95 is kinda based on the NES and XP has an anime look to it...

If your using 2K3, surprise suprise, make an event and on page 3 there should be one called erase event. Otherwise, you're on your own.

That's why I (try to) stick to 2K3.

Polyonymous

Here are the steps to make a character disapear In RPGmaker 2000.

1. In the event editor, make a new page.
2. On the second page, in the event conditions box, make it so a switch needs to be turned on to activate the event.
3. On the first page, set an event command called "change switch". Choose the switch that you set for page two to be activated. Set it so that it turns the switch on, then press ok.
4. Make the graphic on page two so that it is blank.

There... when you talk to the person, it will activate the switch, making it so the events on the second page take effect over the first page events. Meaning if there is no graphic for the square on the second page, there will be no person!

P.S- If anybody knows of any easier way to do this, PM me.
