finally beat the game with save the queen (not my save file but whatever) and everyone says u get an alternate ending for that or hammer but it was exactly the same

did i miss something in the ending or do u need both save the queen and the hammer?

im hoping softreset will reply, he knows everything

XIII)Final Fantasy IX's Second Ending
=======================================================================
Complete the Stellazzio quest and keep either Cinna's Hammer or
Beatrix's Save The Queen in your item inventory. [Please refer to
'Stellazzio: Zodiac Coins' section in the 'Side Quest' content for
details on how to complete this quest.] DO NOT use the Hammer in the
Legendary Synthesis Shop. You will see an additional hidden sequence
in the ending. [Your eyes got to be sharp to see the difference(s).
The second ending is just a few minutes longer than the original one.
Have one save file with the Hammer in your inventory and another save
file without the Hammer in your inventory to spot the differences.]

Note:I am not sure whether Beatrix's Save The Queen will work too if
you want to see additional scenes in the endings. I didn't
complete the game with the item, 'Save The Queen'. However, I
have heard that with the item, 'Save The Queen', you can also
get the second ending.


I've pretty much forgotten, it's nothing spectacular. But I think it's one of those scenes with text preceding it of Beatrix in her room talking about protecting Garnet (or something like that?)

Save the Queen has no effect on the ending whatsoever.
