Jars of Clay beat both of 'em, no contest.

Also: Newsboys, Delirious?, All Star United, Five Iron Frenzy, Seven Day Jesus, The Lads (purely for The Cactus Song), Sixpence None The Richer, Switchfoot, DC Talk, MIC and Jaci Valesquez. All well worth listening to. Bob Carlisle isn't too bad either, although I only know his song 'Butterfly Kisses' which isn't really a 'God' song, so yeah. I'm not sure about Lifehouse, but they might be one too. I'll avoid Creed. :p

The problem with Christian rock is everyone assumes it's like Hillsongs and Cliff Richard, who I don't consider to be 'Rock' at all.

I wouldn't call Hillsongs or Cliff Richard rock. They're more often than not quite soft, quiet songs with nothing but a piano or maybe a violin etc. I put them down under Worship. Jars of Clay aren't always 'Rock' either, they have a lot of more quiet songs too - still one of my favourite bands of all time, though. Amazingly beautiful music.
