What was the first game made by Enix that you ever played? Note, this can include pre-merger Enix properties, so Star Ocean: Until the End of Time counts.

For me it was Act Raiser. What about y'alls?

I got some special deal with Nintendo Power where they'd send me games with the subscription. It was expensive and I only used it once and that was for Dragon Warrior. NES. Honestly I dunno how I acquired it. I know I got it through the mail and it had something to do with my Nintendo Power subscription. But it was too young to care. My bro owned the NES and mom got me that. It was the first game I owned. First videogame RPG I played. It ruled.

I think I know the deal you're referring to. Basically when Nintendo decided to try and publish Dragon Warrior, they feared people wouldn't want to give it a try, which would lead to poor sales, which means poor returns on investment. In order to try and generate some interest, they had a deal where you could get Dragon Warrior with a subscription to Nintendo Power. Nintendo at the time knew that people wanted to subscribe to Nintendo Power (and if you weren't there, trust me. The magazine was HUGE. Kids brought their new issues to school just to check out the new games), so it was as safe a bet to get interest in the franchise as they could manage. It worked. Dragon Warrior I-IV sold very well. If Final Fantasy VII had never happened, FF and DW would probably be on equal levels of popularity.

I believe it was Terranigma, but I may have played another Enix game before that without realising it.

Head on over to www.square-enix.com and browse through their listings of old releases to see if you've played any of those.

I first played Illusion of Gaia around the same time I played Final Fantasy 2 (4j), so that's probably it.

Dragon Warrior. Remember when Nintendo Power gave out all those free copies? I already had it so I donated mine to charity.

Well, the first one I SAW was Dragon Warrior/Quest II, but my cousins were bastards and didn't let me play.

Star Ocean: The Second Story. I think that was the only Enix game I played before the merge. I was never really exposed to Enix games. I need to get a DW game sometime though.

Dragon Warrior on the NES.

One of my friends had it, and I couldn't get it from Nintendo Power since my parents wouldn't subscribe for me. Ah, well. I managed to pick it up eventually.

I wish there was more respect for Enix outside fo Japan.

There would be if people were exposed to Act Raiser, Soul Blazer and E.V.O all in one sitting.

I think DQVIII (yes, they're calling it Dragon QUEST in America for once, god knows why they decided to change now....) might really turn things around for the series. It's definitely added enough eye candy to finally make new school gamers less bored by it.

Dragon Warrior for me too, I think. Maybe?

I loved Nintendo Power. I'm pretty sure I still have a lot of issues back at my parents' house.
