What is the greatest arcade game of all time? Best sports arcade game? The hardest arcade game? Most addictive?

Discuss.

Probably Asteroids or Galaga. My favorites: the old Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles games, and Arctic Thunder. That game was an absolute blast to play.

I'm a sucker for light gun games. House of the Dead is one of my favorite series.

Super Street FIghter II Turbo. No arcade game can ever compete with this game's perfection.

Warlords. If you haven't played it, you simply can't understand.

Toss-up between Virtual On: Otorio Tangram and Tokyo Tank Wars. I loved both of those games so very, very much.

Soul Calibur 2. Now that it's gone to the bargain bin because Tekken 5 is so much more popular, it only costs half as much to play! Yay!

And Initial D. Vroom.

Most addictive?

Three Wonders, most definitely. For those that don't know what TW is, well, it has three games on it, Midnight Wanderers, Don't Pull, and Chariot. It's a Capcom game, to boot.

Midnight Wanderers is this weird little action/adventure/shooting game (I'm not sure how to classify it), and it's kinda reminiscent of Makaimura (or Ghosts and Goblins), since they play kinda similar.

Chariot is a side-scrolling shooter, and very addictive, as well. Reminds me a little of R-Type for some reason.

Don't Pull is a puzzle game where you push blocks to kill enemies. You can also push blocks to keep enemies a safe distance away from you, and then push said block into them as they go by it. It's pretty fun.

greatest arcade game

Tie up between Vampire Savior and Rival Schools for me. Those games have a fun factor that is unmatched to me.

hardest arcade game

Gunbird, even though it's a pretty short game.

Count me in! Just recently, I've been getting AA's in Light, and in some cases, Standard.

Oh yeah, btw, whatever happened to Rival Schools by Capcom?

There was some kickass side-scrolling one where you had to fight dinosaurs as well as people.

Ha, I remember getting excited over that. My best score lately has been getting an A on Paranoia Survivor Max heavy. :D

Soul Calibur 2.SCREW TEKKEN 5!
True. Tekken's taken away most of my SC-buddies. I skipped out on the first Sydney tournament because I didn't think I was good enough yet, but when I beat the guy who beat the guy who won the tournament, I convinced myself that I would enter the next one. Tekken 5 came out just as preparations were beginning and they called the whole thing off. Very frustrating.

Not that I didn't play Tekken 5. Xiaoyu is pretty darn adorable. Other than that, it's not addictive at all. TEKKEN HAS JACK ON SOUL CALIBUR!

Meanwhile, I'm only able to get B's on most light songs after playing most every day for two weeks.

Practice makes perfect, I suppose. My home made DDR pad makes it so much easier.

Golden Axe is fun. n_n My Sister took me to the arcade to play that game alot.

Tekken 3 is fun, too. I would play it at the Skating Rink alot. My Mom would give $2 to me every week when we went there. She told me to spend it on food, but I spent it on Tekken 3.
