What was your first job. At 15 I started to work with my mother's boyfriend at a car lot, I would clean the inside and outside of cars. Every once in a while we would have to clean every freakin car in the lot, I was so tired man and he kept on saying today you're gonna make over a hundred dollars, but when he payed me he only gave me $50 dollars that lying bastard for cleaning 12 cars straight, the first day I worked for him he payed me 25 dollars for cleanng 3 cars, but $50 for 12 that's inhumane man, I wanted to quit, but my momma made me keep on working there.

Hey, it's the internet - without guilt I can pretend to be something I'm not. Or wasn't, whatever.

I haven't had a job yet, I'm too lazy. Summer is meant for relaxing.
If work experience counts though, it was in a library that sorted out the books sent out to schools (it wasn't public, so I never saw anyone). Boring and lonely.

My first "legal" job was when I was 16 and worked at a local hardware store, for this 30-something-year-old wussy momma's boy and his father and bitch mother. He fired me when he learned I was quitting, what a bugger. But before that, I had a "job" tossing around bales of hay, stacking, etc. for this guy who runs a buffalo farm. $6 an hour cash wasn't bad for a 15-year-old, I suppose, especially when I got all the time I could.

Ouch!

I plan on applying to the new Best Buy coming in nearby as soon as I get off my lazy rear and get my license. I've always loved that store and I'd very much enjoy working there.

I worked as a clerk at Longs and was the best person to ever work there. There literally was a shrine in my honor.

My first 'job' I guess was when I monitored pre-school students on the bus...walked them where they needed to be, etc. You only get paid for it if your 16. heh

I quit after the first semester because one of the little kids I had to watch was always afraid of everything (including me) and cried and threw up alot. :(
And there was another one that I had to keep away from other boys because he would try to...lick them... :(
And then there was one that always called me mommy

That was such a traumatizing experience. And I didnt just quit...I stopped riding that bus all together.

Yep I remember it Nick. Just two years ago I realized when my Mom had her car detailed, it was Nick cleaning it, it's funny how you can remember little things and sometimes forget big ones. Anyway, my first job was at a cookie shop. I was 16, I loved that shop and I got dicounts off of cookies, oh how so many and they ere hot and fresh too.

My first job was a paper route when I was twelve. I used the money to buy a drumset.

My first real job was a dishwasher when I was sixteen, and I spent most of that money on booze.

Steel fixer/labourer on a building site when I was 16. Sucked the big one, but the pay was good.

I was an umpire for tee-ball and coachpitch. Made some real good money (about 10 dollars an hour), but it was too hard, so I quit when the season ended.

I'd say that volunteer work counts towards having a job, since you can count it as job experience.

The only job I've had is mowing yards. A yard, actually. Just the one. $15 a mow.

I should get a real job sometime, but I'm just so lazy.

When I was 17 I got my first job at Disneyland. It was good. The drive was too far though, which was harsh, and then my car died so I had to quit.

I've been volunteering at the local library, and they're looking to hire somebody for about 10 hours a week, so I'll probably get that job. I should have gotten a real job over the summer, but I didn't want to have to spend all my money on a car, and I'm too lazy anyway.

I haven't had my first official job yet. :-[ My parents don't work, so it's been tight and I've thought about getting a job. But since no one hires a 14 year old, I'm going to try juggling helping out the 7th and 8th grade musicians at my old middle school 1 hour/$15-$20 two or three days a week, getting a 10 year old started on piano, and tutoring math to another 10 year old. ...Yeah. It's going to be a crazy year.

Paper run was my first job, Ł15 a week for 15 minutes work each morning, I was ripped off! I was always late anyway and I only worked every second week. My employers where of Indain Asain origen and would always bitch about me in their language, whatever it was, while I was in the shop. Every so often I would here Jamie thrown in here or there.
I quite enjoyed it; kept me fit; gave me enough money to splash out on pokémon cards; and I used to sit about and read the newspapers before I delievered them.

I got my first job when I was around 14 years old and it was totally illegal in every way. My job was to sit in the back of a warehouse and wipe off expired expiration dates from bottles of barbecue sauce so that we could sell them to 99 cent stores. My grandma got me the job as she was working as a secretary for these people. They're in prison for credit card fraud now or something. Anyway, on the plus side, I got to learn how to drive a forklift when I was extremely young, and I was making like 200 dollars a week at 14.

I just turned 17 when I got my first job as an Assistant Librarian to the Health Records of Canada. It freaked me how I got this certain job as my first one. Most people tend to get calls from McDonalds or Burger Kings, but none of that stuff happened to me.

Construction. I was 12. I helped my dad put together huge fences and drainage work/irrigation. I used to know more about it than he did. But then he stopped taking me to work and now I know squat. When I grow up, I want to be an architect/carpenter/drainage expert/electrician/auto-mechanic/writer. That way, I can build and maintain my own damn house.
