About eight months ago, I reached Disc 4 of FFVIII. I started the battle with Adel.
I'm still there.
For the life of me, I cannot beat this boss. It's @#%ing impossible. Can anyone help me at all? To get a better idea of my situation, here it is:
Squall is on level 30 and has about 2200 HP
Irvine is level 23 and has about 2100 HP
Quistis is level 21 and has 1234 HP
This is my best team. Now, every time I begin the fight I summon Cerberus, and cast Shell on everyone, and then Regen on Rinoa. Since my best magic (Thundaga) does about 380, I usually go with using up my 10 Flare stones (440) while casting Thundaga tripled. Physical hits normally do about 80-150. Having cast Shell, I can barely survive Ultima or Quake, Quistis usually dies.
Don't tell me to level up or any of that crap. I fight battles, and gain one (1) EXP point for each fight, and that's it. Don't ask me why.
How the hell do I kill her?

You only gain 1 EXP because every monster in the Lunatic Pandora is level 1.
Junction for extremely high strength on Squall, Zell, or Irvine, use Limits, and don't use attacks that hit both Adel and Rinoa (Scatter Shot, some of Zell's finishing moves, and pray you don't get a Fated Circle or Blasting Zone).

your characters are too weak.dont level up but do make sure you have the best weapons possible and best limits amd also get better junctions.

You need to gain AP, so that your GFs can learn the proper abilities for you to junction. If they have learned the proper abilities already, make sure you have loads of magic to junction (100 of each).
Draw lots of magic from your enemies, 100 of each, and mess around with junctioning, to see what fits where best. Or do an auto junction. You should find that Ultima gives you the most power when junctioned to strength, however ultima will serve you better junctioned to elem-def, especially when fighting magic users like Adel. Meteor therefore, is a good one to junction to strength.
If your GFs don't have the proper abilities learned, then learn the card ability. Then, when fighting random encounters, after beating up on your enemies to where they only have about 25% of their hp left, card them. This will get you AP, to ensure that your GFs have the proper junctions and abilities learned. If you still can't gain much AP inside Lunatic Pandora, go back to a previously saved game, and start fighting and carding, to gain AP, before entering. You only have a few battles to fight inside Lunatic Pandora before facing Adel again.

junction curaga to health, this can be done early on, here's how: when you fight a boss called Grenaldo (the one where you save Ellone from the training arena in Balamb Garden) you get 16 wizard stones for killing it, use Siren's L-Mag refine ability to refine curaga's from the wizard stones, make sure you spread out your GF's so everyone has Health Junction then share out the curage and junction them and everyone has roughly 3000 HP, also it is NEVER necessary to use any of your curagas because cure will suffice seeing as your health will never get low, this allows easy access to limit breaks so therefore much easier battles, or you could junction something like Firage and Junction it to Strength to have a powerful attack, i chose the health and curagas because of the access to the limit breaks. That should keep you going for Health throughout the game, also any wizard stones you find early on refine into curaga (or what have you)
with the right magic you can make yourself absorb every element, as crazybayman mentioned Ultima is best on Elem-Def because with it you gain defense against EVERY element, Adel is a pain because of her spells, so therefore share out Ultima so everyone has just enough to nullify/absorb spell damage,
At this stage in fighting Adel i recommend Full-Life to go on your health (pardon me i havent played the game in a while and i am unsure if you can have Full Life at that point however it is most likely you will), once again as crazybayman said to draw 100 of each magic, this maximizes the potential of the stat in question you are improving, also i stopped equipping magic as a useable ability because i never used it because it decreases your SeeD rank AND in the end there were very spells i used and the only one i REALLY used was Aura (gotta love that one). So generally magic is good for junctioning. Also it is possible to make yourself ALMOST COMPLETELY immune ot immobilizing stats such as Break and so on, i know i am drifting away from the Adel subject and you are probably bored of reading this but experiement with magics on different stats but remember to junction Ultima to your Elem-Def and 100 Deaths to status attack, this KILLS MOST enemies, thats a good trick to use. Sorry for blabbing on so long and i hope this helps you

Ok, most of these ideas I like. Seeing as I don't think I've ever upgraded anyone's weapon (for good resason... I've never seen a weapon shop other than the one in Zell's hometown) so trying to do that probably is a good idea, since I'm only dealing about 100 damage per hit.
As for Junctioning strong magics to people's stats... all my best magic is Junctioned to HP so that I can actually survive Adel's Ultima and Quake, so I'm thinking of just mass-Junctioning some other magic that I'll Draw out of enemies. See, I really don't have much to Junction with, so I'm forced to rely on HP alone just so I can live. Guides I've read say crap like "Adel's attacks aren't too bad, you just should heal once in a while and use physical." The hell with that. Even with all my best magic Junctioned to HP, I can barely live!
By the way... it it normal to be about level 25 on Disc 4? Put it this way folks, enemies in the Lunatic Pandora are kinda difficult for me to fight. Should it be like that?
And also... where can I get better weapons?
One last thing... why are you telling me to use Limits? Having low HP means that in the next attack, someone (or everyone, if you're talking Quake, Ultima or Meteor) is going to die. Quistis's Limits don't work, Zell's might, and Squall's usually suck, even if he does Rough Divide at the end. And what's with this Blasting Zone Circle stuff? I've never even heard of that.

You get different limits when you upgrade your weapons. Level really doesn't make a difference in this game, as the monsters level up with your characters (meaning if you are level 30, so are the monsters). It seems you don't really have much magic, so draw whatever magic possible until you have 100 of each. (this could take a while, especially if you say you have a tough time with the monsters)
Basically, level makes no difference in this game. It is all about what magic you have. Draw like there is no tomorrow and remember to junction it.

Get some aura stones/spells, that way you don't have to have low HP to use limits.
Getting new weapons only affects squall's limits. Look around in your inventory for some items to give Quistis new limits (malboro tentacles, running fire, water crystals, etc) Read the combat magazines for zell, refine/buy new bullets for irvine, and well you can't fight with rinoa or do much about selphie's.

Unfortunately, that requires that you have saved before the Seifer battle, otherwise you can't leave the Lunatic Pandora.

Ya know what?
If you've been there for 8 months, and you're still having that much trouble, go back to an earlier save point. Then go around drawing magic, and gain AP to let your GFs learn their abilities. Plus, find any extra GFs.
And if you don't have any earlier save games (because maybe during the 8 months you erased them to make room for other game files), start the game over again. From the Beginning.
This time, pay attention to the junctioning system, and make sure you gain as much AP as possible, and make sure your GFs learn the best abilities first. Draw magic from enemies ALL THE TIME. Whenever you fight an enemy, check to see what you can draw, and if there's something there that you haven't drawn before, draw 100 of it for each person. This will take a little more time in the beginning, but will save you time in the end. As well, when you do this, you will find that you will be able to draw and recieve extra GFs from certain bosses, like carbuncle, siren, pandemona, etc.
As well, do the sidequests, and get GFs like Tonberry, Bahamut, and Eden. All this will make the game much easier, and much more enjoyable.
As well, you will OWN Adel, and just about everyone else. The last time I fought her (which was just the other day), I was so powerful I had to be careful not to kill her too quick, so I could mug that Samantha Soul from her.

Ignore it for about 3 months then go back and kick her butt by sheer luck alone.
That's how I did it. And with Ultimecia as well.

Never thought about some one this weak in Adel fight.
But you manage to go this far without many knowledge!
Beat many boss without powerful characters.!
Good heeheeheee!

Ok, I think I might actually have an edge on her. I went around the Lunatic Pandora and drew Pain and Tornado like crazy, and then Junctioned them to HP and Str so that my attacks are $#^@ing strong and I've like 3000 health. Ultima and Quake still are hurting, but Shell usually helps with that. Then, when Quistis gets weak I've been using Homing Laser and sometimes getting max damage out of it.
Just out of curiosity... how much HP does Adel have? I've checked many guides but it never says.

Bump!
Never mind, but thank you to all who responded. After this long (I think the actual count may be close to a year) I've finally beaten Adel. Ah, what bliss it is to know the last bit of the game awaits.

Great you've beaten her.
After the time-compression sequence, take the time to travel the world map, fighting and gaining AP for your GFs to learn new abilities. You won't be able to go into towns, but you can still fight enemies. As well, draw AS MUCH MAGIC AS POSSIBLE, as I said earlier. Of every kind that exists.
I recommend you do some side quests, and get the extra GFs, like Bahamut. I think you can do that in the time compressed world, but I'm not sure.
If you found Adel that hard, you will find the rest of the game extremely challenging, unless you do some serious magic drawing and junctioning.

If you have meltdown, cast it on adel. also get zell in your party. Cast aura on him and use duel. just keep using punch rush and booya so you can make several hits in one second.
If you have levethian's recover ability, use it on rinoa every once in awhile. cast lots of supportive magic on her (don't bother with reflect).
Forget doomtrain, it'll just kill off rinoa before you can use a remedy on her.
Only use single target Limits.

Just out of curiosity... how much HP does Adel have? I've checked many guides but it never says.
I know you've won, but sharing this won't hurt.
Adel's HP:
Level 1: 6000
Level 10: 15000
Level 20: 25000
Level 30: 35000
Level 40: 45000
Level 46 (Adel's max level): 51000

If I can recall, just using the kamikaze command against her should do the trick.
Now I dont know if kamikaze's damage depends on your current level, and I think its a command cactuar can learn ( again: as I think, long time ago :) ), which I suppose you dont have.

Junction some heavy stuff for Strength, Vitality and Spirit.
Donīt mind too much about HP, I think Vitality and Spirit is much more important.
Give as many chars as possible stuff like Str+60% and the like as well.
Also, USE AURA STONES!
Itīs pretty interesting that you can get them in the beginning of the game, really.
Iīm going to the Timber mission right now and Iīve already got the Aura Stones.
You can refine them in Tool-RF from Steel Pipes, Fury Fragments and Hypno Crowns.

for an eaiyer time in the adel fight have squall with lots of hp, and a strength stat of 150-200+ sephie with meltdown and zell with aura. cast meltdown on adel then have zell cast aura on squall and use resuken with any luck the fight will be over in 4-5 turns maybie less.
