After updating my game last night, (which just bought and haven't played yet) I came down this morning to play and was greeted by the following error message:

Terminated os error occured in FINAL FANTASY XI. Failed to recognize Hardware TnL.
Please check that this computer has the requred specifications to run FINAL FANTASY XI.(-1)

I'm sure I have the needed hardware. I just got this dang computer last year. It's an Hp pavillion a 720n with an Amd Athalon processor. My os is Microsoft Windows Xp Home Edition. I'm not sure what my video or sound cards are, but I thought that they'd be up to date. I have plenty of ram and memory. The customer support isn't even talking to me.
Can you help me?

It most likely has to do with your video card. GeForce2 MX can just minimally run it. You should either tone down the graphics or update your drivers on your card's site. A way to check it is right click My Computer on anywhere but an icon, Properties, Hardware Tab, and click the Device Manager.

I'm not sure if this is it: VIA/S3G UniChrome IGP. It was under Display Adaptors.

If that is indeed your Video Card, it might not be compatible which might be a problem. Nvidia or Radeon cards work best with FFXI.

TnL error means you have a crappy graphics card (computer manufactures never give you a decent one with a new computer). Best bet is to go buy a better one.

Try: www.newegg.com That seems pretty cool.

well thats wrong to say he has a crappy one. He can have a decent one but if it aint Raiden or Nvidia then it ain't gonna let yourun it. This is a business move SE did so Nvidia and Raiden(Business partners) can make more money.

You can run FFXI without a Nvidia and Radeon card. >.>; They just said they don't support mobile cards anymore. So where did you get that information from? >.>;

What one was it? Did it support TnL? Did it have enough memory? I know for certain that you can run FFXI without a Radeon or Nvidia card - as I used to run it when I first got my new computer, and I just had a standard graphics card (some IBM one I think) that supported TnL and it worked.

It CAN work, its just that theres no gurantee to like Nvidia and Radeons.
