How are the characters' names pronounced? Or how do you pronounce them?
Squall* Leonhart = SQUALL LEE - uhn - hart
Rinoa Heartilly* = REE - nuh HART - lee
Quistis Trepe* = KEE - stihs TREEP
Zell* Dincht = ZELL DINGKT
Selphie* Timmett* = SELL - fee TIM-meht
Irvine* Kinneas = ER - vihn KEE - neeh - ahs
Laguna* Loire = luh - GOO - nuh LOHWIRE (kind of like lawyer.)
Kiros Seagill* = KEY-rohs SEE-gill
Seifer* Almasy = SIGHFER - AL - muh - say
Edea* = EE - dee - uh
Raijin = RAH - jin
Fujin = FOO - jin
*The people with the asterisks do not need to be reiterated on how they are said. Unless I am wrong, or something. Otherwise, they are pretty obvious.

skwall lee'-un-hart
rih-no'-ah heart-lily xD (I just think it's cuter than heartilly xD)
kees'-tis trehp
irv'-in kin-e-as
self'-e til'-mit
zel dinshed
la-goon'-a lwair
si'-fer al-mass'-e
You both pronounce Quistis that way. Its Kwistis to me. I thought that's what it was supposed to be u_u And what the heck? REE-nuh? =P I'm with Rubah on that one. Ri-no-a. I thought it was easy. But then, I got Quistis wrong. So who am I to judge ^_^

I think it is Rinoa. Correct me if I am wrong, but Japanese pronounce their words syllable by syllable (that probably doesn't make sense.), that is, the hiragana/katakana syllables.
Ri - no - a = Ree - noh' - ah
Is the correct pronunciation*, I think.

I agree on Squall, no problem there.
But Rinoa... I've always pronounced her name just like ree-'no-a. And her last name just Heartilly.
I've been wondering why most people seem to say kee-stis. I've always used kwee-stis. And Trepe for the last name.
I'm not quite following on the Dincht here. Why the k? :p
That's pretty much how I pronounce Selphie too, but her last name's Tilmitt, no? :)
Irvine, about the same.
About Loire, I've always said it the French-kinda way, probably because I took some French in school and Loire just sounds like a very French word for some reason :p (like lu-aar)
Agree on Kiros...
Ah, my dear Seifer. I've pronounced his name like cypher, and last name like al-may-see.
Edea, same.
I've said Raijin like ray-jin, but yours is probably the more "accurate" way :p
And Fujin, about the same :)

Here's how I think their names are pronounced:
Squall Leonhart = Skwall Le-on-hart
(Japanese pronounciation: Su-koo-ru Re-o-n-haa-to)
Rinoa Heartilly = Re-no-ah Har-tilly
Quistis Trepe = Kwes-tes Treep
(Qui from the way we pronounce the word quick)
Seifer Almasy = Say-fur Al-muh-se
Zell Dincht = Zell Din-cht
Selphie Tilmitt = Sell-fe Till-mit
Irvine Kinneas = Er-vin Ke-nay-*as
(* a as in apple)
Laguna Loire = Lah-goo-nah Low-are
(Japanese pronounciation: Ra-ku-na Re-u-ii-ru)
Raijin = Rye-jin
Fujin = Foo-jin
Ultimecia = Ul-te-may-se-uh
--------
I've only got the Japanese pronounciations for Squall and Laguna, 'cause I haven't seen any pics with the other character's names on them...
I can read katakana somewhat, but not kanji.
But because the FFVIII character names are "foreign" (except Raijin and Fujin and a couple of other side characters in the game...) they're names are written in katakana.

Seifer is a play on the word cipher, meaning non-entity, which is the explanation behind his name, so it's pronounced the same way.
