Right im lvling up at the moment and everyone is around 50 exept freya whos 40 couse i never use her. Zidane is 63 couse of unavoidable reasons. Ive got just about everyones ultima weapens and im thinking if i should go to memoria and then come back to do more training for the final battles. So what was everyones stats before they compleated the game

My entire party around level 60 (Zidane, Steiner, Amarant and Garnet.) Make sure you guard against as many status effects as you can.

Stats don't really matter. As long as you have Auto-Regen and some decent weapons (and thus decent abilities...), you'll obliterate the final boss.

You're around lv 50 with all your ultimate weapons? I was only in the 50-60 area myself the first time I beat it, and I only had one ultimate weapon (Quina's). I think you've got it covered.

THis game pretty easy.

Get everyone with auto regen and auto haste (i made a note of this as soon as i got feather boots in disk 3)

Then every battle is easy (even Ozma)

you will get ~10 levels in memoria (i had lvl up equpped thou)

with those abilities all you have to use is the occasional phoenix/antidote.

Boss is nothing like those in FFVII or VIII (which were actually worthy of calling bosses)

Actually, Necron is generally considered to be the hardest of the PSX final bosses, and Sephiroth is usually considered a pussy.

My first time playing through FFIX was on level ~63 at necron, only got ko's from meteor (and only on vivi and garnet which i phoenixed with steiner and zidane). Otherwise just attacked/cast flare/shocked/sighed with boredome/ scanned and missed/ detected for items to steal/ tried to steal nothing in a deperate attempt to get something, some satisfaction, from this boss.

Give me emerald weapon any day who rewards you with all-summon, all-magic, all-command and is actually hard. (and has more than 2 health)

FFIX isn't hard because - believe it or not - RPGs are meant to be fun! Isn't that bizarre?

Maybe, just maybe, Square isn't trying to give you repetitive strain injury through repeatedly mashing X to defeat Necron because it wants you to buy other games in its endlessly multiplying series. Or I could be wrong.

Necron is the last of the fun bosses in the FFs. After that it becomes irritating turkey. eg: Sin, Seymour Flux, Shuyin, etc. Not 'cos they're hard but because they're
NOT . FUN . TO . PLAY .

There. Sulky rant over. I hope the pile of smoking carcasses and smouldering debris I left in my wake isn't too big.

I found necron boring because all i did was attack/shock/phoenix and he was dead.

I found bosses and battles in FFX alot more engaging because could swap chs, chs had in-battle character (if you know what i mean), and you actually used the abilities of your characters to do stuff. The optional bosses are good in FFX (although a little insane), such as dark aeons but the final bosses are crap, I mean the last real boss is seymour and hes not very dramatic, I just found the whole FFX battle system more engaging and hence more fun.

Although, i played FFX before FFIX, and then i played FFVI (in that order), battles, esp bosses in FFVI have to be some of the best. Mabey i just like FFVII bosses because of cool music (and nostalgia, FFVII was my first final fantasy (oxmoron))

I have not got far in the game, but I've watched my brother (Mr.Cal) defeat Necron countless times, and I have noticed that leveling up must actually be fun! :confused:

Oh yeah. It's fun if you're fighting the more challenging opponents, like there's many of them at lvl. 70 but still it's great!

In response FluroChoco, I agree that the slash-cast-revive routine was very repetitive but I think the spectaclar magic Necron cast and the enemy design was way ahead of FFX :D

…But that's just me. :(

If you're level 50 and you know what you're doing, you shouldn't have trouble beating Necron.

You shouldn't have too much trouble. I beat him with Vivi, Quina, Garnet, and Zidane in my party.

Zidane was level 68 and did about 7000 with thievery.
Garnet was level 72 (everybody else had virus inflicted on them, so she gained about 20 levels by the time I reached Kuja).
Quina was level 51.
Vivi was level 60 and did about 4000 with blizzaga, when necron had shell cast on him.

All of them had auto haste, auto regen, and auto reflect equiped.
Garnet and Zidane also had auto life equiped.

I never attacked with garnet and really didn't use her for much now that I think about it. I figured I would use Quina's Angel's Snack ability to remove the status changes inflicted, but that didn't really happen either. I would cast Blizzaga on my party and reflect it back to Necron for about 4000, and I would use Zidanes thievery for about 7000. Thats about all... now it's time to start my new game. :D

i had lvl 60-65 characters and i was struggling with necron but when i learnt curaga necron is easy.

Why does everyone like thievery? LV-48 zidane w/ultima weapon, mp attack, demon killer does 9999 damage against necron.

I never got Zidanes ultimate weapon. His physical attack for me would only do about 3000 or maybe 4000, at least on the other monsters it did that, I never physically attacked necron. People like thievery so much because it's a supper awesome skill that can deal a lot of damage earlier in the game if you do a lot of stealing and it only cost 8 MP.

i think its way easier than people think, i beat the game my first time with everyone about lvl 50 and zidane at about lvl 60, no chocobo or sidequests or anything, now after beating the game about 6 times, i beat ozma at lvl 45, zidane at 55, all sidequests, and then go finish with much ease, its all about havin the right abilities equiped

Im pretty much over the 50's now soooo Im just guna finish a few side quests and then ill go to memoria.

Side quests can be great level-up opportunities, but they don't tend to lead into FMVs or anything (which is what I like playing for). I even sat through twenty minutes of
r e a l l y s l o w t e x t to see about ninety seconds of a full-CGI ending. If there was no FMV in the ending I wouldn't have done that. No way. That's why I switched Bahamut Lagoon off before I saw the rest of the ending :D

seph takes one hit in the REAL final VII boss. even before then, hes easy as /xxx.gif/xxx.gif/xxx.gif/xxx.gif. 4x cutand kotr = easy win.

however, i found necron a little more difficult.

This may sound stupid but the dmg points on zidanes ultima weapen and steiners regnorok keep going down in battle. They have no status effects and i have not changed any of there equipments. The damage used to be in the high 3000's but now when i attack its going down under 2500. Even with those abilaties that make you can a kind of enemy quiker it still dont make a difference.Whats goin on?

No No No No Im'e leveling up still I found out what it was and they were origanaly doing 5500 dmg its couse i put them in the back row and forgot to put them into the front.

What level are you now karlabaines?

I recommend lvl.65 upwards. I beat Necron with ease with Zidane at lvl. 71 and the rest in late 60's.

Don't forget you still have Kuja to slice through before you can fight Necron!!

Zidane is 71 and steiner is 68 dagger 59 and so is eiko. Ive compleated the game before but with cheats but the disk was scratched so no matter how many times i killed necron the ending would never show. Ive still got that disk and a friends disk so if one doesnt work ill use the other.

having Vivi is good as well cuz it enables you to unleash doomsday sword on the enemy which is incredibly powerful, unfortunately zidane is rubbish except for his abnormally powerful trance abilities, its a shame you cant ditch him seeing as he is likely one of the worst characters in the game, so perhaps having vivi instead of eiko might help, two white mages/summoners is not necessary one summoner is enough and one white mage is enough and dagger is generally good enough anyway.

i'm not having a go or anything but i did necron first time and found him rather easy and i was only level 60 or high 50s hes not difficult as long as you have auto life and auto regen and stuff like that, and make sure you can avoid the more dangerous and immobilizing status attacks such as sleep the ones that stop you taking action, you need to eliminate the status ailments and get back to fighting, dont worry about the end boss, so really asking people what level they were was kinda needless, as long as you havent been urnning from like every single battle, done a bit of training up every now and then and got new equipment and all that no boss or enemy should be particurlarly difficult

For Necron, I recommend your characters to be lvl 60 - 70
Necron is easy though, Trance Kuja was the painful one. And his flare star totally balls you up if you av lvl'ed crazy.....

On my first playthrough, I beat him at Level 45 with relative ease.

I had characters around 40-50 the first time, and beat him first try. On my replay this summer I was in the low 70s.

I finally decided to end the game. Beat kuja and necron first time round including with the hammer in my inventory. They were easy.
