Since we're talking about FFX, this should go in that forum. =)

I cried too. I don't think that makes anyone a dork, just because it's a video game. (I'm assuming that's why your sister called you a dork). If it was a movie, or a book, I doubt she would have said the same thing to you. It was an emotional ending, and I think if you really loved the game and/or the characters, it got some sort of response from you.

No, I didn't cry. I thought that the entire plot was a little farfetched, and the ending didn't change anything.

FFX's ending is great. In a way, it's similar to FFVII's ending, because it combines salvation with loss. 'Success coming at a high price', you might say. It's funny... people often criticise Tidus for being wimpy and cowardly, but he went into that final fight knowing he'd cease to exist if he won. He willingly sacrificed his brief experience of real life, and real love, in order to do what was right and help the people - and world - that had helped him.

His separation and departure from Yuna was quite moving, but more emotional was a brief moment at the very end of that scene when Tidus leaps from the deck of the airship and fades to the Farplane, and high-fives Jecht on the way. That simple gesture shows pride, reconciliation and love between the two - it was great to see.

i didnt cry, cause mother kept commin in reminding me n my brotehr that we had house work 2 do, it killed the mood, but i did feel really choaked up inside, and found it hard to get to sleep cause i just wanted the game to keep going and not just end at such a sad point. (if i had finished the game earlier that 11pm, i wouldn't have needed to worry bout sleeping problems, insomiea can do that. )

the ending is a little emotional . . . i suppose . . . maybe. ut i think the entire game asks more questions than it answers and thats why you get that sort of empty feeling at the end

I cried. I cried from when Auron was sent (Damned sister, she got me crying) til about an hour after I finished the game.

The ending was emotional. *blah blah blah, whatever Kikimm said*

That is what I think. I agree with what kikimm said. xD

I didn't cry, but I wasn't far from it. I tend to get emo over games and movies easily.

Ja, I cried. But I laughed when Yuna hit her head.
I also cried during FF7 when Aeris died.
But that was because the White Materia fell in the water.
:.: A Brief Scene from Kamiko playing FF7:.:
Kamiko- Ladededa... okay, and she's about to die... now!
White Materia-
Kamiko- OMIGOSH NO!! NO DAMN YOU!!
Cloud- NO!!
Kamiko- YES!! Cloud that's right! Go get the Materia!
Cloud- [runs to Aeris]
Kamiko- NOOO!! YUFFIE [b]DO SOMETHING!!
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!

I cried, but I tend to get emotionally attached to the characters in most of the games I play and the books I read. So it wasn't unexpected, and I don't think it makes anyone a dork.

I didn't cry, but I felt emotional, especially as Tidus walked through Yuna.

The following days I couldn't stop thinking about it.

Kamiko
09-05-2005, 10:01 PM
I was actually very hungry when this happened and I went to go get some ramen so I missed about half the ending and when I came back, Yuki was rolling on the floor laughing screaming "Yuna hit her head on the pavement and now she has a concussion and she's dying and-!!!"
blah blah blah.
This was about 3 AM.

Madame Adequate

I finished the game at like 3am or something. And yeah, I cried a little. It was weird, because I didn't care much for Tidus and Yuna, but I was surprisingly moved by them at that point.

Didn't cry half so much as when Nanaki howls up at Seto though. That gets me even today. xD

Yeah my sister did call me a dork and i am glad others did cry its just i got attached to tidus and it was sad and also cried at the "good ending" at ffx2 but cant play much now because schools started up again!

HunterFlamebrow

Hmmm, I'm not very emotional about these sort of things, so I didn't cry. Not even close.
In fact, I didn't find it nearly as emotional as some other endings . . . FFIX and Kingdom Hearts, specifically. In FFX, you KNEW ahead of time that Yuna loved Tidus, that Tidus would cease to exist, and that Yuna would be sad. It lacked spontenaity. <---my big word for the day

FFX... The first and only RPG to make me cry. While watching the ending, I just had to hold my tears back since my dad and sis were watching along with me. I didn't want them to make fun of me. But later that night before I fell asleep, I crired so hard to my pillow was virtually saturated in tears.

HunterFlamebrow

Speaking of crying . . . if there is one thing that will make me cry, it is listening to "Suteki Da Ne" whenever I'm particularly down. That melody is just so uplifting it's heartbreaking, if that's even possible.

Suteki Dane. The violin intro truly enamors me and most especially the instrumental version. I wonder if Square created an English version? Nobuo Uematsu said that translating the song to English would only damage the extrinsic Japanese quality of the song.

i think that the ending was sad but i didn't cry even though i felt like making a flood of tears:(

hey hunterflamebrow
i agree with you about suteki dane.It is soothing yet is heartbraking as said by

I cried when Yuna sent the people in Kilika. That was just disturbing...I thought the bodies under the water were pretty flowers until I looked closer...it also gave me goosebumps :(
Cried again when Jecht offered to be Braska's fayth (the Zanarkand music chokes me up, remixes and all)
And when I heard that Seymour killed the Ronsos
But Seymour's sexy so it's okay :p
