The age old question..

I give my vote to Metal Slimes. Just hearing that name makes me shudder. *shudders*

Skull Eaters are closer to Metal Slimes than Tonberries are.

I have no clue what a Skull Eater is though.

red wins again.

Tonberries, they seem dull in FF8, but i sure don't like what it can do to me in FF10.

They're the equivelant of Tonberries for the Dragon Warrior series.

definitely tonberries. Much harder.

Metal Slimes are just annoying, always running away.

Metal slimes are nasty at first and don't take any damage, then after you level up a lot they're super easy. Tonberries are horrible unless you cast stop on them. I really don't feel that the two can be compared. Metal slimes aren't even all that bad unless they gang up on you (which they do a lot of), and even then they run away a lot. The only enemy from FF that really comes close are flans, but even then they're just way different.

Heh heh. Look at your sig.

I was viciously and ruthlesly sp? mauled by
metal slimes in both Dragon Warrior 7 and
Dragon Warrior Original

So Metal Slime wins.

Well, like all things in Dragon Quest, they ARE really hard at first. But if you just level up and cast some buffs and debuffs, you'll have little trouble. Even 8 metal babbles isn't a challenge.

Tonberries never run away. They just count down for a while, then blam, karma. They're like a slightly less devastating form of Bahamut (5, 4, 3, 2, 1, MEGAFLARE!)

I really don't see how a comparison can be made.

Still, neither of them come close to Heidigger.

I'm going to go with the Metal Slime because most people are too biased to answer the poll.

Aren't they in DQI? I thought they were, but later on. My sig is taken from DQII, and yes, they show up in groups of 8. In fact, they pretty much ONLY show up in groups of 8.
