So this whole school year I'll be working on a large important project for my art class and the project can be on anything. I dont have a clue what I want to do so please throw in what you think I should do or what you think I should consider when deciding. It can be on anything.

I dont know what personification means. I looked it up in the dictionary once but that left me more confused than ever.

To personify something is to give something non-human human qualities.

Last two definitions is what I think you want to know. (http://www.google.co.uk/search?hl=en&safe=off&q=define%3A+personify+&btnG=Search&meta=)

Draw a mythical creature, that always gets you high marks for your idea and originality.

a cool business art project would be to grab your favorite final fantasy, and create magazine spreads, sculptures of prototype toys and such, character design seketches etc etc... there is a lot of art that goes into gaming, and I am sure you can cover all of your prerequisites for the project with this idea.

On top of that it is a real world based project. teacher's love that. If you really want to be awsome, start working on your own theorhetical game :D

I'm working on a personal photography project that has everything to do with Censorship. It's an amazing subject to explore through art. And last year I did a project on movement which was a lot of fun. Not really sure if these are the kinds of subjects you're looking for, but you should pick a subject that interests you, and that's broad enough to make an entire project out of.

Wait, is a minotaur a personification of a Bull?

Im wondering if I could do a project using MMORPG's. That would be very interesting.

What?Well yeah, you are giving it human from so it can be classed as personification but is more anthropomorphism I think.
Personification is often used to write descriptively, for example:
"The wind whispered through the trees."
Wind does not whisper, it is a human quality and therefore you are personifying wind.

I'll go for a simple suggestion: draw your veiw of the elements, as in fire, water, earth, wind. Or something like that, it is something that a lot of people can do but it is all about your vision which defines the outcome.

That's so cool. I'd love to do that. I suppose if I work hard, I could get into AP Art in 12th Grade (because my Computer Graphics teacher recommended me already) and I get to do something like that. :)

Themes are good. I'd pick a theme and try it in all sorts of mediums. :)

That's a great one. And along the same lines, you could make a project out of the 7 deadly sins and your interpretation of them.

Are you allowed to do it in multiple medium? It'd be impressive if you almost did a collage of sorts of all types of mediums of a theme, like photography, painting, drawing. Well, the 2D mediums at least.

Something to do with an online rpg is really catching my interest right now but Jamie Stars ideas sound very interesting too. Bah, Too much choice.

Would that be an like:

12 slides that center around one specific theme (can be twelve slides of twelve works, or 8 works and four details, etc)
12 works that emcompass a variety of mediums
5 works that best show the skill of the artist

by any chance?

because that's what I"m going to be working on this year xD

How about you do a series of drawings/paintings/whatevers of your interpretations of everyone in Eyes On FF? Not everyone as theres bazillions of us, but of the people you know and like best (including me since I came up with this brilliant idea ;) )

because that's what I"m going to be working on this year xDIts more like a detailed prep sheet (with writing, not just sketches and photos of the subject) a hell of a lot of pictures. A choice between a few things like a Lino print, a portrait, a model (using chickenwire or something like that) and some other stuff. If that answers your question. I've pnly had the course explained to me once so Im not really that sure myself.

You should base the topic on something you feel strongly about or enjoy, that way you won't lose interest.
