im confused

iv always wondered why the people of coral blame barret and barret alone the only person who objected was dyne so they have no right to complain and pin the blame on him :confused:

Quite frankly, I don't think that there was too much logic involved in this (the people just lost everything, they weren't thinking rationally). But, I'll see what I can come up with.

Barrett wasn't there when the town was destroyed, so he wasn't punished for his part in cooperating with the Shinra.

Barrett seemed to be one of the "leaders" of the town, along with Dyne, and was likely the only one thought to be left alive once the town was destroyed. That makes it his fault (or at least his responsibility).

Barrett is a better person than the scum that live in Corel, so he blamed himself when he saw what happened, while everyone in Corel was looking to blame someone else. Those two views are both supported by in game evidence, and they coincede nicely. Barrett's a willing scapegoat.

barret was the one that tried to convince everybody in corel that Shinra would make things better. he insisted that they should create a mako plant here, and so everybody decided to give them a try. then Barret left for something, alone with Dyne, and Shinra torched the place, so even though the people of Corel accepted shinra at first, they decided to blame Barret beacuse
1) They couldn't blame Dyne because everybody thought he was dead

The people of Corel just wanted someone to blame and Barret (bless him) is too stupid to realise he isn't to blame, and just believes anything those b**ta**s say.

maybe they ganged up on him because they were partly intimidated by his gun arm. that's why i think he should have one of those foam finger things that say #1. he probably wouldn't be stuck up and angry all the time.

deception. it may LOOK harmless, but actually, it's radio active finger that whenever it touches something, barret can use his mind to release a surge of energy. yep. genius i am.
