Bugenhagen... what is he, exactly? Red XIII calls him grandpa, he can fly, he has no legs, he's really smart.

is he human? what is he?

EDIT: He DOES say once, "I wonder what we humans are?"

but still. how does he fly? lol.

A little Hynerian hover chair (similar to Rygel's on Farscape).

I used to think he could be an Ancient, but he also says "I'm not an Ancient!"

but maybe he's just too old to remember that he actually is ?? haha prolly not.

Bugenhagen is a legend. A sexy legend. The only sexier being in the FFVII world is sailor suit Barret.

His legs are folded and he floats like a Swami. He's probably also got a flute and summons Midgar Zoloms from baskets.

He's human, just a little eccentric.

And by eccentric I mean he DEFIES Gravity itself.

09-07-2005, 12:25 PM
Well, Bugenhagen's 130 years old. That's quite an age.
I'm guessing he lost the use of his legs, due to extreme old age, or perhaps lost his legs entirely, so he uses some kind of Gravity magic to levitate.

G SpOtZ
09-07-2005, 01:53 PM
mebbe he has some kind of float spell that nobody else discovered in the world of ffvii

Light Mage

Maybe he has Gravity-Elemental materia combination in his colostomy bag and uses it to fly.

I don't know if this has been said before but I don't thing he's Reds "Real" grandpa (Different species duh) I think he probly looked after Nakaki (And probably Seto aswell) so he was called Grandpa as respect (Similar to how Cid is called that in FFVI)

i wonder if he had some kind of "Reverse Effect" materia. That way, maybe he wears a diaper with 2 connecting materia slots, throws on a Gravity and a Reverse Effect on there and it lets him float?

or maybe he just sticks those materias right up his......O_o

eestlinc
09-08-2005, 02:01 AM
what?

Vyk
09-08-2005, 03:04 AM
I might be wrong, but I think he was alluding to the fact that Gravity materia is usually used with a crushing effect. This "referse effect" would then cause it to repel (like the same sides of a magnet). As for that last bit, well there's no explaining that :D

Immore inclined to agree with the speacial materia theory. Whos to say that in his life time he didnt come across a speacial and unique materia. (you come across atleast four in yours). He is human, more than likely hes partially senile, or usues that to mask his true personallity

He is too a lion.He is "whatever you see me to be".He ise't specifically anything. So henceforth I say he's a lion

Kawaii Ryűkishi
09-09-2005, 04:41 AM
The fact that he's whatever you see him to be should tell you that he isn't a normal animal.

is he a poodle? poodles aren't normal.

I still say he's a Swami. Swami's levitate with their legs crossed and since the feild scene graphics in VII were blocky, it looks like some sort of wobble toy you get when your a baby, when in fact its actually his legs crossed.

Red XIII's species evolved in a area with high mako output (like the caves in Nibel) constant exposure to the Mako energy have given Red's people super abilities and intelligence, etc.

They have naturally what Mojo Hojo was trying to do artificially to SOLDIER people in Nibel.

I don't recall high Mako-leakage in the Cosmo area. Not even in the caves that Bugenhagen had sealed off.

Um, uh... maybe they weren't native to the Cosmo region to begin with? Or, or... maybe no-one said anything about it being a Mako rich area, cos that would be stating the obvious? "The sea is where there's a lot of water, you know."

Why else would the Study of Planet life be held there if there wasn't a reason for it?

:-)

the study of the planet is held there because bugenhagen decided for it to be there. and he's super smart. also, maybe the stars are easier to see around there, and he could create an observatory on top of a canyon.

and how would saying that cosmo canyon is mako-rich area be stating the obvious?

It wouldn't be obvious at all, considering that we see no signs of the Cosmo area being a Mako-rich region, nor do we see the Shinra make any effort to construct a reactor in the region.

As for the matter of Red, there's nothing at all to suggest that Mako played a role in the development and evolution of his species. While Mako infusion can be understood to enhance an individual's physical abilities, extreme exposure seems to manifest itself in monstrous and wholly unnatural mutation. For that matter, Red's species doesn't appear to exhibit any obvious "super abilities;" the only salient characteristic is their longevity.

if it were a mako rich area the shinra would have build a mako reactor :p

maybe hes red's mums dad who did it with seto what ever he is but when red was born he looked more like his dad and i think bugenhagen is in some kind of hover thing that he has needed since the Gi attacked and that is why we can't see his leg
