Yesterday I went to the Guggemheim Museum to meat my thesis supervisor as usual and I got caught in the middle of a thundersstorm. When I got there I was completely, miserably soaked.

Did anyone else think of the song from Bambi as soon as they saw this thread title?

I love thunderstorms. It's so rare to get them out here, though... maybe one or two good ones a year.

We got thunderstorms and a lot of rain last night too. I remember when there was a thunderstorm while we were in school when I was 8 and I told my best friend I saw a car get struck and explode and he believed me. I DIDN'T THOUGH! :D

We've had a couple of nearly-flash-floods, but seeing how I live up on a highly elevated hill (mountain) they never really worry us.

Florida has thunderstorms almost everyday May-October between 3-5 pm.....plus occasional hurricanes and other tropical storms too, but with Katrina and Ophelia, they've sucked all the moisture out of the air and it hasn't rained near me in like 2 or 3 days......

There was a good thunderstorm up here a few days ago (Wisconsin), so I went out and walked around in it for a little while. Quite a few people thought I was drunk -- college campus, raining like hell, one guy walking around with no books or anything for a class. What a schmuck, huh? But I was sweet and also called a lady friend of mine, because I know she's afraid of thunderstorms.

i dislike it when that happens. makes the ground all crispy like.

sometimes the weather people say it's going to storm. a big blob of storm heading right for us. then it gets to our little village(it's actually called a village). it splits in half, one glides over us, one under, it's like there's a BUBBLE around us. it'd be easy for you to be a weather person here, because no one expects you to be right
