NFL opend up today. My super bowl pick: Idianapolis Colts. This is the year the Patriots will lose. The Patriots are TOO overated. I've never seen so much holding in my life. The refs seem to miss it so much. Rodney Harrison is the Dirtiest player I've ever seen. (Hes out to hurt you not tackle you.) Tom Brady is WAAAY overrated. The Patriots won the super bowls NOT Tom Brady. And they are not a Dynasty yet. The decades not even over yet. They missed the playoffs one year too. Thats BS. I'm not saying the Pats are a bad team, but they get too much credit and they win because of crappy "new" rules.( The Tuck Rule was total BS. And theres a new rule every year because of the Pats)

The Lions are the only undefeated team in their division. I am happy. I know it'll come crashing down soon but I'm going to enjoy it for now!

I'm still rooting for the Falcons. Vick is a good quarterback but the fact that he gets hurt so often really is going to prohibit his game.

The Patriots are good because of Bill Belichick. Don't hate on them. They're good. The best team since the 90's Cowboys, certainly.

And the Cowboys beat a favored Chargers team, even without Gates, 28-24. What a game. Julius Jones outplays LaDainian Tomlinson. Drew Bledsoe (who I was not too fond of) throws for 220 yards and 3 TDs.

Yes, great game by the Dallas Cowboys. Was I the only one excited when they signed Drew Bledsoe, sure he isnt the top QB in the NFL, definately an upgrade from Quincy Carter and Vinny Testaverde

The Cowboys can also thank Quentin Jammer for those two holding penalties on third downs.

Before this season, Jammer said "I don't care if they throw the flags. I'm just gonna play the way I play."

I can only sit and laugh at him now. Him and Luis Castillo.

Anywho, I have to hate the Dolphins and the Pats on principle.

They will win the division this year. The only team that gives Detroit a problem will be the Vikings but they suck also. Packers and Bears are crap.

Steelers looked great today also...but then again they played the Titans :D

Raistlin

Go Pittsburgh! That's who I'm rooting for.

It'll be tough to knock off the Pats, though. I can't stand New England, but they have a damn good team. Easily the most consistent team in the NFL. Unless they play Miami.

EDIT: I'd also love to see Oakland make a run.

Bears > all

BWAAAAAAAAAAAHHH AHAHAHAHAHAHAH! Bears suck and have sucked for the last 15 years. It isn't changing this year either. I give everyone such about the bears because they suck so much. I give people about them because I am from chicago...and I don't like the bears and everyone else seems to be a bears fan.

What is this? Bears are 1st and goal on the 1? DOESN'T MEAN ! They will end up 4th and 40 and then have to punt...or fumble...or throw an interception. It never fails.

Raistlin
09-12-2005, 05:47 AM
Yeah, the Bears really do suck. They're down there with the Cardinals. The Bengals, at least, have some talent, and will win a few games.

EDIT: Forgot to mention the Browns. They suck, too.

Sasquatch
09-12-2005, 06:45 AM
Bears are exponentially better than the Cardinals or Browns. Hell, they should have won today. But they made some stupid mistakes. It's the first game of the season, you'll have that. I thought they did pretty good without a starting quarterback. Their defense didn't give up a touchdown, and forced, what, four fumbles and an interception or two?

The Vikings and Packers lost too, though. Where I am, most everybody's a Packer fan, with a few Vikings fans, and a Bears fan here and there. So I'm not happy, but nobody else is either, which makes me happy :D .

Lions will have a decent team this year, but I wouldn't say great. I wouldn't even bet on them taking the division.

Yeah, that's not going to last long. With the way they played against the Rams though, they could win 5 or 6 games.

They're going to play their "home" games at about 4-6 different stadiums, but it'll work out.

For the past two years, the Bears have played most of the season without a 1st String Quarterback. Last year, Rex Grossman pulled a ligiment or something like the fourth game of the season. This year, he broke his ankle before the season even started. That bastard. Now we're left with a rookie, a fourth round draft pick.

Raistlin
09-12-2005, 07:16 PM
It's okay. Eventually, the Bears have to get the first pick of the draft, and then they might have a chance at a half-decent QB.

Then all they need is most of the rest of a team, and then they're all set. :)

I want Denver to go all the way, but when you loose to Miami, you might as well comit suicide.

eestlinc

1. Denver has never won a game in Miami against the Dolphins. 0-7 now.
2. Miami is currently 1-0, so until they start losing games, you can't really say how bad they are.

Miami beat the Patriots last year.

Sasquatch
09-13-2005, 01:46 AM
No, it depends on who they play, and how they play. I mean hell, Detroit is alone in first place, that doesn't mean they're the best team in the NFC North. It doesn't even mean that they're better than the Packers, who they beat. You can always learn from how well (or poorly) a team plays...just because they got lucky and won doesn't mean they're a good team.

RSL
09-13-2005, 02:28 AM
Yeah, no one is saying that the season is determined after one week. But the teams that won are off to a better start than the teams that lost, obviously.

I don't think the Lions are going to win the division, but I am going to cheer them on as they try.

Kirobaito
09-13-2005, 04:10 AM
Man, I'd love it if the Falcons could make the Eagles the only team in the division not to win in Week 1.

Well the Falcons defeated the Eagles tonight. There was a little fight before the game and both players got ejected. D: Other than that the Eagles really got rolled on tonight. Vick did a fantastic job and the Falcon's defense has definitely picked up a lot. I'm excited.

I was just happy to see Mcnabb get nailed. ;D When he came back in he performed horribly. I guess he picked it up but him and TO didn't mesh well that game. :S

eestlinc
09-14-2005, 04:02 AM
the Eagles's offensive playcalling is horrible, though. It's like Andy Reid wants to be the 2001 Rams except he only has one good WR.

RSL
09-14-2005, 04:11 AM
I wouldn't say vick was that good. He had some nice runs, yeah, but what did he do for the passing game?

I still think Vick is an overrated QB.

eestlinc
09-14-2005, 04:21 AM
the falcons have even worse receivers than the eagles (minus TO). Watchign that game was pretty painful from a QB-WR perspective. At least the Falcons run the ball, and thus they won.

Raistlin
09-14-2005, 04:49 AM
I guess he picked it up but him and TO didn't mesh well that game. :S
...you did see that T.O. had over 100 yards receiving, right? He was thrown the ball like 20-some times, but Atlanta had great coverage, and after McNabb took that hit he just couldn't move around and throw the ball the same.

the Eagles's offensive playcalling is horrible, though. It's like Andy Reid wants to be the 2001 Rams except he only has one good WR.
Yeah, pretty much. It was just an ugly game from an Eagles offense perspective.

Vick isn't that good, but he is getting much better.

eestlinc
09-14-2005, 05:07 AM
if Vick had two good WR he'd probably be awesome. or at least then he wouldn't have any excuse for sucking.

then again, maybe Vick's really a bad QB and just makes his WR seem like they suck.

RSL

Don't get me wrong, the guy is one hell of an athlete. I'd take him over Harrington any day, at least he makes some big plays.

Yeah, at least Vick has a defense to back him up.

Del Murder
09-17-2005, 01:41 AM
Vick is a speed RB who throws the ball sometimes, and he does that pretty well, but with the team down by 7 and a minute to go I would not want the game in his hands.

Doomie
09-17-2005, 01:48 AM
Yeah, I just noticed this thread. 42-19 Giants over Arizona. Ouch.

Raistlin
09-17-2005, 01:56 AM
Yeah, and the Giants aren't even that good. Arizona just sucks. Arizona, Cleveland, and Tennessee are the teams I'd rank at the very bottom of the list.

RSL
09-17-2005, 02:37 AM
Yeah, at least Vick has a defense to back him up.

I think Detroit's D might suprise a few people. Then again, it might not.

Raistlin
09-17-2005, 04:09 PM
xD

Detroit doesn't exactly have a miserable D, but it's not the most consistent in the world. I'll wait a few weeks before I say anything more definite, though.

Pheesh
09-17-2005, 04:23 PM
i'd say that vick has a fairly good line-up to work with. Decent enough WR's and even I will admit that Dunn ran a good game against us. Ultimately I think it's hard to take Vick seriously as a QB because of his running and jumping around. When you see a solid QB like brady or Manning then he seems like he could be a HB.

Peace out and

Del Murder

I like the running duo of Dunn and Duckett. That and the defense is how they win games.

It's the DDDV style that helps Atlanta win:

Dunn, Duckett, Defense, and Vick-not-throwing-too-much.

From 49 yards. 50 yards is no gimme for anyone, even Akers.

When he finally got a chance within 45 yards (I think it was 44, actually), he nailed it right between the posts. Akers is still good.

the Falcons have horrible WR. Crumpler is their best receiver and he's not that good at catching balls, and he's a TE.
