Someone tried to report me in WoW for calling someone an idiot, but it failed miserably, 'cause the guy really WAS a moron.

That and nobody gets banned for words in WoW, then they can't get the precious monthly fee outta you.

The fact that this thread even exists makes me want to kill.

I report beacause I care

I don't report because I don't care.

If anyone's doing anything severe enough for me to consider them deserving of a ban, it's almost always something big enough for other people to know about as well. They can deal with it.

Well I had been playing and a guy sent me a tell saying your daughter is hot; and other crap along those lines - through sheer irony (i hope) this was the day after my daughter was born. I reported him. I care :D

I dont know if this counts since it isnt a MMO but ive reported countless people in Halo 2 for modding and just being gay. And ive sent many hate mail to bungie cuz i think they killed Halo.

I always wonder if reports are taken seriously.

Nope, never. If someone is being an ass, I just add them to my blacklist and go on my way. I don't see the point in tattling to a GM unless the player is doing something distinctly "illegal" like MPKing or advertising the sale of their character.

In the original Dreamcast version of PSO, one night my friend and I harassed this one guy via the game's e-mail system, just to screw with him. He got annoyed and threatened to report us to Sega, so we stopped.

We were in the sixth grade, mind you.

Normally no. Not for someone spamming over shouts. Giving out over that is just for prissies. Maybe if someone was being harassed or something like that.

I once reported a GM on Ultima Online for no reason and got told off. (I knew the guy I was reporting so I wasn't temp-banned or something)

I and several other people once lured several evil nasty high level monsters into the cramped and crowded newbie advisory hall, or whatever it was called. Pure slaughter.

We were banned. The game was called Myth of Soma I think, but it was quite a while ago.

I got banned from a Halo server last night because I kept killing some dude who was calling me stuff after he killed me three times and I retaliated. :D

In Star Wars Galaxies, this dude kept stalking me even though I'm a guy because he was mad over guild politics. He kept asking to meet me in real life and kept sending me ingame emails. I eventually had to report him to get him to stop. I had him on ignore but he followed me everywhere whenever he saw me online. creeeepy.

i've reported people on runescape for item scamming. its an epidemic on that game i swear. people tricking the newbies into giving them their armour saying they'll do something special to it. the most rediculous one i've heard so far is turning armour from another type to mithril armour. the next one is covering the armour in gold. the most common way used to scam though is saying you'll add trim to a player's armour, the thing is, you need to buy the armour with the trim on it, armour can't be altered.
