I just defeated Spherimorph and got the spiel about Jecht spheres. But most of them are back in places the party has already visited. So what I want to know is:

1) How far can the party backtrack? All the way to Besaid?

2) Is it worth backtracking now, or should I wait until later?

You can backtrack as much as you want. But backtracking will be made a lot easier if you wait and go all the way to Zanarkand first. It just make Auron have a wider selection of overdrives, I would wait until after Zanarkand.

It's alot easier to backtrack once you have the airship too... I would wait until then to go back.....

How about for Auron's third limit then? He only needs 3 spheres for that and you'd only need to go back as far as Thunder Plains to get two additional spheres.

theres no need. the first one is the one you get from spherimorph, the second can be found in macalania woods on the path towards bevele and the third on Mt. Gagazet
