Sig Preveiw enhancement

Could we get something in the Preview Signature that tells us how big it is? Im sick of getting told off for big sigs. I cant magically measure how big it is, and this is getting really annoying. I resize the text a lot, which helps sometimes, but i just cant tell how big it is

Well considering that the picture in your sig alone is 250 pixels high I think it's safe to say that your signature's to big.

Make the pic smaller in height so you know you've got space for text, instead of being retarded making the pic the height limit so there's obviously no space left for text :p

Easiest way to measure so far is with a magnifying glass and counting pixel by pixel.

Failing that, I suppose you do it the hard way by taking a screenshot and measuring it in an image editor.

If figuring out how tall a strip size 10 Verdana and an image is beyond you, keep out of your Edit Signature control.

I think if they could, they'd just not let sigs bigger than the size selected be set. Just a hunch, but I don't think Leeza enjoys checking and unsetting people's signatures.

I just really don't like oversized sigs so I gotta do what I gotta do.

I would prefer it if everyone could just know how to check the size of their sig, but I know it took me a while and some help to figure it out at first as well.

Like Old Manus said...right click on the image and it will tell you the filesize and dimensions of the image. If you have text in it, you can pretty much judge it in comparison to your image and then add to the pixel height of the image. Or, you can Print Screen and paste into something like Photoshop, crop the entire sig from the white line down to the last bit of text and then check the Image Information. It takes a bit of work, but that's what needs to be done.

i agree Raist, but it would be kinda nice if we put a 250x550 white image in the FAQ just for reference.Ya know, that could be workable - suppose the 'preview signature' option simply superimposed the sig over a white 250x550 rectange? That way, it'd be nice 'n' easy to tell if the sig was exceeding the size limits. Filesize would still have to be checked manually, but this kind of superimposition would make it convient for people to check width and height. Heck, even an illiterate forum member would be able to see if their sig was too big.
