How much time does pass in FF VIII during the game?

The stupidest question in the world.. Yes. I know. -_-U

But I actually managed to confuse myself when I started thinking about it. It ALL started when I began to think about Squall's age.

In the booklets and everything, it says that Squall is 17 years old, right? But.... Does that mean he's 17 through out the game and he was 16 in the start? Or is it so that he is 17 going on 18 as it HAS to be that he has his birthday during the game. I mean... The start is the SeeD exam which is in spring (that's what the computer in his class says), and the Garden Festival is in early autumn. But can it REALLY be that they were on that ONE mission for over two months? And then... if 1 mission took 2 months, how much time passes during the WHOLE game... ... ...?

LOL. I have no idea how I got myself into all this confusion.

pretty sure it's one of those things that can be explained by saying "it's a game." can't be 100% sure though.

I made a mistake and I confused the Garden Festival with something else. So..... Maybe there actually isn't anything anymore to be confused about (unless someone finds a problem). ^^

You can find all that unuseful information in the computer at different sections. If I remember correctly there was even loads of info on qualifying as SeeD and stuff... But its not worth reading if you're not bored.
