Sam and Max Hit the Road is the point and click adventure right up there with Grim Fandango and Myst as being a fan favorite. LucasArts has previously announced a full-on sequel to Sam and Max Hit the Road alongside a new Full Throttle title, a return to their early 1990s P&C glory. Both games got the can.
However, developer Telltale Games has acquired the license to Sam and Max, and plans to release episodic titles of the anthropomorphic duo. Telltale Games isn't just anyone, however, as it's some of the members who left LucasArts when Sam and Max 2 was cancelled.
Telltale Games has previously created the P&C title Bone: Out From Boneville, which can be purchased from their website.
You heard it folks. Sam and Max, the dynamic duo of comedic terror, are back in action. Three cheers for the guys at Telltale for bringing back two of the best characters ever.
