http://home.comcast.net/~inutrunks3/ruliweb_ff12.wmv

Right Click Save As for it, its the new trailer for the expansion and it includes a Blue Mage type job introduced.

It is expected that this expansion covers the areas of the Far East that is metioned in much of our items and equipment, as well, CoP referened this area as well if you went far enough.

yay!

I hope they introduce more than the blue mage job type but what I really want to see is the new areas.

My guess is yes, they will release it for the PS2 as FFXI promotes cross platforming(and ALOT more JP players use PS2 to play instead of PC compared to us), however i doubt it will be released retail-wise and you need to buy it online from SE themselves.

Most likely they will release at least 3 jobs. Otherwise there would be a horrid imbalance. I believe in the past jobs were released in 3s. I'm rather excited. When CoP was released I was only barely 20 on my main job and really didn't know wtf was going on and couldn't really participate.

Now I'm only 5k tnl to 75 and my wife is already at 75 so we'll be able to truly take in the glory of the new expansion.

There's only been 2 expansions so far, and only one has included new jobs. You're right, however, that this expansion included 3 new jobs. I bet they're going to include the 3 most requested.

I desperately want a dancer class to be included in the expansion. C'mon Squeenix, don't let me down!

Wowo more jobs man the trailor looked pretty good...I was thinking aobut quitting. But new jobs mean more work and more work means paying SE to work for them!!! woooottt!! I love MMORPGs. You pay someone to work, and you pay even more money to do extra "special work". lol.

Anyway I'm getting this expansion pack when it comes out.

I heard when you create a character there you don't get too many features you can edit to distinguish yourself.. Think this expansion will release new physical apearance customizations for characters. I don't mean item wise. Somthing more like hair styles, skin tone, eye color etc.

on that note, is this critisism even that true? :D I heard if from a fella whom left FFXI for WoW.

Dunno, but I hope its true, Geomancer would be an interesting class to play.

I use to play a Geomancer on Nexus. Its a pretty fun class on that game. Thoughy ou have to stay in tuned with nature. ..Hopefully it;ll be like it is on Nexus. A solo mnage job.(Geomancer.).

No and i hope they never do, FFXI is already over 7-8 GB of space as it is, we dont need useless things to clutter up the harddrive. From levels 1-30ish your armor will be the same because the developers WANT you to be the same and distingushed from your higher leveled counterparts(fine with me easier choices). The armor however, although graphics are inferior, the design is usually very superior than most other armorsets i seen in WoW.

Judging that the Xbox360 is only 20GB HDD that is not only used for FFXI i hope not. The game is about 50% done too so expect FFXI to use more more space. No use in editing things already more than a year old when you can go torwards the future.

Consoles are ripoffs

reasons:
1)Regional codings?!?!?wtf?
2)You pay so much money
3)take care of it and youc an't upgrade or customise it and it jsut breaks down.
4)when you do fix a problem yourself. You void your warranty.
5)See reason number 1.

Sorry but FFXI promotes crossplatforming and i dont think what anyone says could really change that, you have to keep those factors in mind that JP people use consoles for online gaming more than PCs.

3)take care of it and youc an't upgrade or customise it and it jsut breaks down.
4)when you do fix a problem yourself. You void your warranty.
5)See reason number 1.

1.) Reigonal codings are for the voltage differences in places. I forget the specifics but we have a different voltage kind of TV and using the coding here for elsewhere will fry the equipment elsewhere, THATS why theres reigonal coding. Like we use 60 some power for our TV but EU uses like 50 or something else..i forget but its how it goes if i remember the basics.

2.) Cant argue there...consoles just get more and more expensive these days, and whatever happened to getting 1 free game with the console?

3.) My Nintendo works fine O_o Sony ones however i have no idea, i always feel they have crappy quality in equipment with their only savior is their marketing strategies. However its like an Alienware, its designed for gaming.

4.) Of course you do, if you try to fix it and you break even more of it in the process its not their fault its your own damn fault. They cant replace every console that you broke, they would lose lots of money on people trying to screw em over. :rolleyes2

Actually regional codings has more than jsut voltage when I say regional codings. I mean the programing langauge is completely different to fit one console in a completely different region.

A freakin PC game is the same no matter were oyu get it. The only difference there is is the fact that different langauges and etc. When I say different regional codings. You know what I smurfing mean oyu jsut want to say /xxx.gif/xxx.gif/xxx.gif/xxx.gif.

Because if it was jsut voltage then how come I got a mod chip that lets me play a DBZ game from japan on my xbox. The mod chip just changes the damn coding of my playstation so I can play that DBZ game from japan.Otherwise I wouldn't be able to play it.

Also when I opened my PS2 up I noticed the fan was blowing inwards instead of outwards. I have a unch of lint in my PS2 when I oepened it up to turn the fan the other way around.

You don't know me do I break it even more? You don't even know me in real life to make such a judgement. Heck all you see is my avatar. My post, and my siggy, and my FF11 character.

BTW when i said consoles are ripoffs I wasn't even talking about for online gaming. Just overall.

You mean like how JP consoles can play EN games but we cant play JP games on our consoles..? Or do you mean every console should have same coding? The first i can agree on with the second one...eh i ono about second one.

No no i didnt. Please dont just assume things >_> I thought you mean PAL/NTSC and stuff like that.

No thats not the point, i meant look at it from a company's standpoint. They cant replace a PS2 that say someone dropped from a second story window. When something is wrong and its not your fault they will fix it for you, however if you try to fix it yourself and break it in the process...do you really think they are gonna fix something you screwed with? Hellllll no. Thats what i was trying to say.

And yes consoles are too expensive these days i agreed with you there.

Regional coding has nothing to do with voltage.

Thats the electronic part of the console.

1) They do this with DVDs too ya know. It's called "wanting to make money on products you created and/or published". Not that I'd want to play the Japanese version of FFXI anyway, seeing as I don't speak Japanese. I'd have no idea what to do.

2) You pay so much MORE money for a computer. I've spent less than $300 on my PS2, and I've even bought a second controller, the hard drive, keyboard and online adapter for it. My new computer cost me $1500.

3) Ummm, you take care of it and it WON'T break down. I don't know what you do with YOUR game consoles, but I've had all of two consoles break on me, and one was due to a flood. The other was probably just seriously abused by me when I was a young'n. And no, you can't upgrade them. So what? The average PC has a lifespan of about 7 years, which is pretty much the amount of time that games will be produced for a console. If your computer is even 4 years old, chances are you don't have a powerful enough machine to run FFXI. You COULD upgrade, but for what you'd pay for new hardware (which would probably only boost PARTS of your performance) you could probably buy a PS2. Besides that, PC gamers are WAYYYYY too eager to upgrade their computers. Every "gamer" PC that comes out these days is 64 bit, which is COMPLETELY ridiculous since there isn't even any software that takes advantage of this yet, and they run at slower speeds than their 32 bit counterparts. In addition, running a 32 bit app on a 64 bit system forces the CPU to take that much longer to read the code since it has to figure out that it's only getting half as much information as it thinks it needs to. Sounds like the PC gamers are the ones getting ripped off here...

4) Yeah, that's because you're not SUPPOSED to take apart your game console. If they covered the system under the warranty after you'd opened it up, they'd be liable for any damages you incurred, which is what we like to call "a bad business decision". Sony would have to repair every system that had been fried from someone's botched efforts at installing a mod chip, and they'd have to do it FOR FREE.

5) Re-itteration of theme, while a classic closure, does not lend creedence to an argument.
