Is there a way with MS Paint to make the backgrounds of images transparent on web pages? It's been a while since I've had to worry about it and don't remember :(

No, you can download Microsoft Gif animator for free, and then edit them using that. It turns the color white (or whatever you want) to transparent. So make sure you save it as a bmp so the color scheme stays correct, then let the gif maker set it to transparent.

Or you can download the gimp for free. (gimp.org) :)

Maybe the average citizen could download somethign to help, but us hardcore war torn souls can't download anything to the precious Army computers :(

They're fragile.

I don't think there's any way of doing it. I worked with Paint a lot for a couple of years and wasn't ever able to find anything about it.

Nope, I don't think you can do anything transparent with Paint. I could make the pictures transparent for you, if you want. :)
