Kids with Guns.

When you were a kid, did you ever play guns? What sort of rules did you use? What kind of toy guns did you play with? Did you have a different name for it other than just "guns"?

Usually we played with the light-up guns that made noises rather than Nerf guns. Nerf guns were cool when you had darts, but we lost so many of them that we didn't play with them much. We had some really big ones that were really cool. They don't make them these days like they used to.

My friends and I played it a bunch of different ways. Sometimes we did a deathmatch style game, sometimes had it was like hide-and-go-seek, and sometimes it was coop against a bunch of imaginary enemies.

When we did it deathmatch style, usually if you got shot, you had to lay down on the ground and count to five and then get back up. Since our guns didn't have any darts, it was usually just "I shot you! You have to get down!", which lead to more than a few arguments and debates.

Hide-and-go-seek style was like most other hide-and-go-seek, except more stealth was involved because they could just shoot you and you were out. I don't remember if you were ever able to shoot the person that was it, since it was a while ago.

Of course, coop was always fun. My friend's house had a layout that perfectly complimented whatever team of enemy ninjas or robots we were fighting, so we could always kill a few hours blasting away bad guys that weren't there.

I used to have one of those guns that shot rubber bullets. I wasn't allowed to shoot at people though.

my brother used to play with NERF, but by the time I came along, we lost all the nerf balls.

I remember my cousin got a popcap gun at walmart once, and I was like ":OOOOOOOOOOOOO GUNS ARE BAD"

and I still shudder every time CJ and Austin, my nephews, play with them. Even if they're water guns.

It wasn't as good as the adverts made it seem. The headset display was pretty cool though. I still have it buried somewhere around though.

When I was little I was always jealous of my friends Justin and Carlos. They always had cap guns that made big loud noises when you shot them and I thought they were neat, but I was never allowed to have one.

Hells yeah. We always used the NES light gun. It was usually the first one to be picked out of the pile.

Anyway. Squirt guns, guns with foam darts or balls, BB guns...and of course Duck Hunt. Until I discovered the .410, anyway, and the .22 pistol, then I stopped caring about the rest of 'em.

I played with Toy Guns and water pistols, I used to shoot an abandoned boat with my friend, with my Air Rifle in Sussex. We drank so much stella, was sick so much in the river......

I had a Nerf crossbow and a few Nerf guns, but I lost the arrows/darts pretty quickly. I had a couple lasertag guns, too, and the various plastic pieces of junk that made noises or just looked cool.

I had a squirt gun. It was before they legally had to look fake or have a big orange tip, so my mom wrote "TOY" on it with red nail polish, but I kept taking it off. ^_^

I've also been firing real guns since I was probably three or four, with my dad holding it in my hands the first few years. I like shooting things.

I used to play with Nerf guns, water guns, cap guns, and, when older (as in, 6/7), rubber band guns. Me and my friends would usually either do something akin to Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch, or Defend the (Pillow) Base. Now I just use Paintball guns in Team Deathmatch style. :)

Plastic darts, cap guns, super soakers, our imaginations- the list went on. Good times. Though after Columbine anyone who played anything slightly aggresive on the playground was arrested.
