You'll never believe what happened! Okay, I got off work today about noon because the Army is trying to give us all the free time it can before we go overseas. Well anyway, after that I ate lunch. It's what happened after lunch thats really important. As I was walking back to the barracks wearing my kevlar helment, body armor with 2 ten pound bullet proof plates in it, and my camel back water thingy, something horrible transpired. I tripped over an untied shoelace. You would have thought that someone would of pointed out that my boot was untied since the laces have to be tucked into our boots anyway, but noone did. I might have noticed it myself, but between the chile dog, chile fries (yes, I eat very healthily), and my glasses of milk (see, I told you, healthy!) I was too involved with the devouring process to care much about the appearence of my boots and didn't think to look at them. Anyway, I tripped. That fall caused me to roll down a hill. A really big hill. While others were busy laughing at such a sight I couldn't enjoy the moment as I was busy being impaled by sticks, smooshed by rocks, rolling over (or more like through) bushes, and in general just makeing my way towards the bottom of the hill at speeds faster than I would have liked to of been going. Then, since God had forseen this event many years in the past and he apparently has a sense of humor, I stopped in a conveniently placed creek at the bottom. One would imagine that a bullet proof piece of body armor and a helment designed to deflect 7.76 millimeter bullets would presumably keep you safe in case just such a thing would happen. I think the designer was on dope! ...or maybe had a grudge against the Army and found a handy way to vent his rage when they approached him to design these things. Heaven forbid that I was wearing my wet weather gear at the time. Needless to say, it hurt. A lot. I am now sitting in my room currently unable to type anything due to my injuries. If it were possible, I would type that up for you jiffy spliffy, but seeing as how you need to be able to type while designing web pages I don't think I can help you. Sorry.:p
