i remember the good ol days when i was a kid and used to enjoy pokemon, i watched the series 1-3 i think, the last new pokemon was cyndiquil and stuff, i dont remember, now theres a whole bunch of pokemons that are just confusing, my favorite pokemon is mewtwo :D

Ok...everyones point of view on pokemon has changed. I must say that i too use to collect the cards and watch the show and play the games...until it began to suck.That was around 9th grade for me.I traded my cards for ff9 but i still have some of the games. For me its too childish now, there's no real lust for me to wanna watch it anymore..i wanted to like the jhoto ones and the new ones out...but the story was to horrid for me the characters became annoying brock team rocket ash...they didn't evolve into adults or grew up nor did the stories.Pokemon had potential...but its fading away like it should.

I remember in 4th and 5th grade me and my friends held Pokemon tournaments with the Red and Blue versions. Sometimes we chose a theme, like Rock-type only or Bug-type only and such.

Back then it was cool to have 6 Mewtwos on the belt (legitemately gained by the way, none of that Gameshark bull), but now, with all these new Pokemon out there, I don't know. I stopped following the games after gold and silver.

I only liked the original ones when there was 150 (151 actually) pokemon. The first series with the proper pokemon league. Its rediculous now....the pokedex told him that there was only 150 known species of pokemon. Then out of nowhere another 250 are around the world. I was obsessed with Pokémon back in the day. I never missed an episode of the show and didn't go anywhere without either red or blue on me. I was never really into the card game, though. *shrug* I played through Gold and Silver when they came out in Japan, and pretty much lost my fandom by the time they were released here. I have no idea what any of the pokemon from those two are called here. I was so confused when I heard friends talking about this Meryl charactor. @.@ Meryl? You mean Pikablu?

I recently bought Ruby and Sapphire, though. I don't know what I think of them. I really don't like most of the new creatures, ESPECIALLY the names. What happened to cool names like Blastoise? WTF is a Zigzagoon? >.>;; Oi.

I've bought every gameboy game except Ruby and Emerald and I barely even remember the firsat 151 poke'mon. I used to be obsessed with these games, tv shows, and cards. Now I barely even play the games I gave all my cards (200+) to my little brother and I absolutely despise the tv show and movies and I never want to watch them again. Ever. The console games all stunk in my opinion and the Game boy games are growing old for me and the Trading Card game on the GBC was okay...yeah the series is really tiring on me and it seriously needs some innovation.

the fact that I watched the poke'mon shows and the poke'mon games etc... was because I had the power to control the individual poke'mon! I could evolve them and etc. It was exciting exploring around all the different towns and gathering a strong force of little creatures to govern the way you 'worked what your momma gave ya.'

But seeing as it did go overboard I mostly play the gameboy games because it's good for the long road trips to different places. Occasionally I'll channel into the TV show on sunday mornings just to see who the main characters are.

It was the process of how adorable, and addicting it was that got me started. How one young kid turns out to be an awesome trainer with all these friends by his side. Inspiring none the less.

Not toally pathetic because it still is a fad, but not as strong. I do hope that the younger viewers like what they're seeing because it really is better than the originals. More places, poke'mon, characters, etc.

I haven't followed the series in a long while. Must say that when I did watch the series I thought Misty and team rocket were neat. But meh.. dunno... almost feels like they have drug it on too long. Perhaps I just need to try and actually watch it sometime. You sometimes need to force yourself to watch something. And sometimes it will turn out to be interesting after a while. I know with Kimi Ga Nozomu Eien it was that way.


As for the games. Well I like even the new ones. More things to do, more pokemon. Etc. Actually My favorite pokemon comes from the R/S/E era games. Namely the one and only Ninjask. Talk about speed. Too bad all of that speed is only good for one turn :mad:. It could at least factor into evasion or something. Other then that Arcanine and Ninetails are pretty cool.

But meh... I do feel it is begining to grow old.

I use to love Pokemon. I was totally obsessed with it for years. I have more pokemon cards then you can imagine. Now they lie in a large binder under my bed. I even remember when and where I got my first card, and what it was. It was when pokemon's popularity had just begun. I was in a YMCA, and all these kids were talking about it. They started telling me about it, and then I asked a guy if he'd give me one for a buck. It was a Charmeleon. I even have that particular Charmeleon marked in my folder. For the next few years, life was never the same. But now... I haven't even touched it in at least a year. I'm not sure why I keep them. I'm well known for becoming attached to inanimate objects though, so that might have something to do with it. I admit though I still play the Pokemon games. I have all the Gameboy games except Emerald, because I've had better games to buy. Every once in awhile, I'll watch Pokemon with my little bro. The shows become pretty lame though.

It was a pretty decent concept, really. I tend to think the peak was with the release of Gold and Silver, those games were really quite good. I hated Ruby and Sapphire because you couldn't get ALL of the pokemon (I mean come on! It was on Gameboy Advance! You'd think they could make the world much bigger and have all the pokemon in it!)

I would still play the game if they revamped it and concentrated on what really made the game fun: the options. Tinker with party size, different pokemon, different paths (want to become a master? Breeder? Gym leader? Go for it!).

Really, I think the best thing they could do for Pokemon is make a massive world and place it online. Players can log on and challenge each other to matches and generally enjoy the concept in real time, and also be allowed to make their own gyms and the like. That would be a lot of fun and I'd definitely play. But really, they're just milking the same basic format, and it's getting laughable. It has a lot of potential, so much more can be done.

I thought the original games were great. Gold and Silver were decent as well. I stopped playing after those games, though. As far as the cards went, I had a huge collection. I remember when I moved away from Texas my friend gave me all his cards 'cause he quit playing. I probably had close to 1,000 cards. I never really played with them, just collected them. Eventually, after leaving them sitting for four years, I gave them to my 8-year-old neighbor down the street. He went berserk for them.

I sold Red, Blue, Yellow, Gold, and Silver about a year back along with a bunch of other old gameboy games I never touch anymore to help pay for an Xbox. It's surprising how much I can get for some gameboy games.

I've heard that Flame Red and Leaf Green are remakes of blue and red. If that's true I'd consider picking one of those up.

Its only in Red and Blue. You have to go to Viridian city and ask the guy to teach you how to throw a pokeball. When he's done, immediately fly to Cinnabar and surf along the coast on the right side of the island. You'll run into a lot of strong, high level pokemon (Sometimes even Mewtwo) and one will be a Missingno., which stands for "missing number".

Yeah. However, you MUST NOT save after catching it, or it will screw up your game. If you give it a rare candy though, it will evolve into a Kangiskhan (sp?) or something else, depending on which version you play. You can save after that.

Your right, it is. But thats how you do it. The 99 item cheat is that once you defeat Missingno, whatever item is in your fifth slot will add another 99 of that item. I did this many times with rare candies.

i got over it, because it didnt really have a plot or anything.

digimon on the other hand, had stories in their serieseses.

i even got, like 30 little action figure of them.

The Digimon series was 1,000 times better than the Poke'mon series. The digimon thing had the main characters doing something significant by saving the world and the creatures actually could talk and you know had personality. While Poke'mon I have no idea why that show is still running. The same thing happens every episode they go wandering oblviously around some forest/town/beach run into some annoying kid with a Poke'mon and awww the kid has a problem with his poke'mon, being too weak or something I don't care, then Team Rocket (who according to them are poor) gets their hands on a robot attacks them Pikachu uses Thunderbolt on it and they always know its Electricity-resistant and it always is and its always just that and steal Pikachu and Ash's other poke'mon fail at fighting the robot while the shy weak poke'mon stays at the sidelines dealing with its conflictions and the annopying brat makes him full of hope with the same speech of "Best friends get through things together!!!" and it makes an annoying noise saying its name somehow frees Pikachu and exploits the obvious weak point in their robot while Team Rocket is too dumb to actually do something about it while they're doing this speech and Pikachu zaps them again and they fly in the air and somehow don't die when they hit the ground. They all become happy say goodbye and travel to the next generic random locale. And they do this just about every damn episode.

i liked those games of pokemon.
i got all of them for the gameboy :p
i was the rulling champion in the area!
(not much if you realize how large an area is in my hometown...)
but i stil got cards from the newest series:
trapinch -> flygon etc.
it was fun, then boring, then fun again.
but i dont play it annymore
