View Full Version : Closing threads.

I have noticed that staff members have been posting in threads, and acting as if those threads were just fine. Then, a different staff member comes along and closes it. If one staff member thinks it's okay, then I don't think it's anothers deal to go and close it unless it gets out of hand. I see it as one staff member underminding the decision of another, and I think it should be brought to the staffs attention.
I have my doubts about a good portion of the staff taking me or my opinions seriously, but I still feel that this is a thread worth posting.

Maybe it did get out of hand. It's the Knight's call.

But it didn't.
I realize that it's the knights call, but when one Knight participates in the thread, and another one closes it, I think that is somewhat rude.

Sometimes we're just lazy. Or something like that.
It's not rude at all. Very rarely does any staff member have a problem with another member of staff closing a thread. We trust each other's judgement. If there ever is a problem, we discuss it amongst ourselves.

Too lazy to close the thread, but you actively participate in it? :p

Thank you so much for that stunningly enlightening contribution, Crash.
nik0tine, sometimes threads deteriorate after one staffer has posted in them. Sometimes they turn spammy, or get flamed up, or otherwise become unworthy of existence. Sometimes, one staffer simply has a stricter definition of 'spam thread' than another.
It's basically what RSL said.

Or sometimes, the staff contribute to spamming the thread, leading another staff member to actually have a reason to close it. But they're staff, so we lowly members must not question anything they do.

Some staff members are more lenient than others. Often as a staff member I would post in a thread that got closed later by someone else. I didn't think they were rude, I was like like "Damn, no more penis talk today."

What the hell.. I don't get it...
A disturbance in the forum's recently..Called spam. I have recently read some old threads and post's. So..What I wasnt to say is I think we should end it. I like spam and all but only to my usernotes. I really think we should end it. Cid said he personally hates spam. But that's not it. i have seen he hasn't been posting in a long time. He may have some problems to deal with at the moment but when he is online you never see him post. I think we personnally destroyed his forum every time we spam. Piece by piece.I agree with him now. Spam is stupid on forum's ubless in usernotes. Though he hates spam in general. I know this is one of those threads that will usually get locked up and done with right away but please hear me out. Mod's swear they will delete spam but everytime it happens all they do is warn. Destroy the damn post. It doesn't deserve to live. And they also say they would ban someone who spam's all the way. Psy isnt banned is he?? Not that I want him to be. I love that guy and all but c'mon. Only a few were banned for this cause. And me. I used to spam a hell of a lot after I started posting in general chat. I deserve it. But not that I want to be banned. I could list a a lot of spammers that never go or get post's deleted. This isn't fair. What im trying to say is that from now on we should delete all spam crated outside of usernotes starting today. Please hear me out..
Hey Crash, what happened to that?

Why did you close this thread, RSL? :mad2: I feel you have undermined my authority in the eyes of the commoners. :mad2:

I also want to point out that sometimes one staffer posts in a thread and the other staffer notices that there's a duplicate thread so they close and redirect. That's happened to me before.

I close them because I'm one of the more stricter Knights and I have to keep up my image. :cat:

I do it because it's fun and I don't always realize they're closed because I use that nifty quick reply function!

So you reopen them then close them quickly?

That or you were making a small joke by posting in a closed thread!

I was just being ironic. I really am opposed to it, but I do it anyway. Moral laziness I guess. Kind of like how people are opposed to drinking but they do it anyway.
