Camera problems

I recently bought a Konica Minolta Maxxum 50 camera with a Quantaray 28-90 mm zoom lens. I gave it a whirl, today, but to only be shocked by how it can't take a friggin' picture. I read the manual and it says to press the shutter release button halfway down until the autofocus signal lights up. Instead, the signals for under/overexposure light up and won't let me take pictures. On top of that, my aperture settings aren't showing up, either.

HELP ME, EOFF.
