It's called Melodies of Life, the vocal track of it is on the Final Fantasy IX OST. There are Japanese and English lyrics.

The song is used many times during the cause of the game. It's actually a very pretty song.

Yeah, Melodies of Life is a good song. Nice and mellow. I felt the lyrics suited well enough.
