I've seen a few ads floating around for an extremely interesting looking game, but I cannot for the life of me recall the name it was given.

The basic premise is that you are a white fox god trying to make people believe in you by performing miracles and the like for them. The artwork is beautiful cell-shaded graphics that resemble Japanese ink paintings, and I believe the game is controlled by "drawing" on the screen, which causes black, calligraphy-like ink to show up and cause things to happen.

If anybody has the name of this game or information, it would be much appreciated.

It looks really good.

But no, I don't know the system, although if I had to guess I'd say Gamecube or PS2.

The first original title from Capcom's Clover Studio -- headed up by Viewtiful Joe producer Atsushi Inaba. Okami takes place in a time when people still believed in the existence of God. The world has become a lifeless place, as shown in the game's use of Hokusai-style Japanese woodblock print visuals. Playing as Ama Terasu, a sun god who takes on the form of a wolf, your goal is to bring life back to the world. Bringing life back to the world involves defeating lots of beasts. With each beast you defeat, the world's life force is restored just a bit, with colors and eventually people appearing. Famitsu reveals two of the game's main beasts, the Ama no Jyaku and the Nue. Ama no Jyaku has the ability to peep on what others are thinking and disturbs them by doing the opposite of what they want. Nue, meanwhile, gains strength with every sip of the alcohol that he carries with him.

That line alone makes me think of an old Atari ST game called WizBall. And for that reason alone I WANT NEED THIS GAME!!!1!one!!

It's rare now to get something truly original, but I think Okami is going to be one of those few titles that manages to be really fresh and fun at the same time. I'd like to at least rent it when it comes out.

Yeah. You don't see many "good" games lately. They don't make games as they used to. Most of the best RPG's were on the SNES. Then came the PS1. Had a kick ass roster of games. One of the best in time. Now for the PS2. Good but lowering. And now Im talking about games in general...
