Will Final Fantasy live on forever?
I personally sure as hell hope so. I would like to know though, is XII the last of the series? I've been hearing both sides for years now...

There's been unofficial word about them planning on releasing FFXIII on PS3. And I do hope they keep releasing Final Fantasy games, well, as long as they keep releasing games period.

Final Fantasy has far too much of a financial base to die, at least within the foreseeable future.

I've heard rumors of another bazillion FFVII sequels, at the least, and I've also heard that FFXIII will be released for the PS3, the 360, and the Rev.

Final Fantasy XIII is assumed to be on a future console. We haven't been given any confirmable information that states that it will be on any current console that we know, nor have we been given any information that states any solid facts about the game itself.

Face it, it's gotta end sometime, I think we all know that. =/ I don't think I want it to last forever. Being a Final Fantasy fan is hard. Besides, tastetherainbow didn't say anywhere in their post that they wanted it to end, just that they thought it was going to end soon. Two very different things, you see. ;D

Personally, I wouldn't care if it ended with FFXII. FFXII will definately be the last FF game that I buy, if not the last game I buy period.

And it would make a lot of sense for XIII to be on PS3, or even a different next gen console. First 3 were on NES, next 3 were SNES, next 3 were PS1, and 10-12 will be PS2. So 13-15 will be on the next gen console. If you notice, they spent 6 w/ nintendo and 6 with sony, maybe the next 6 will be microsoft? ;)

They'll keep making them as long as they make money. But the quality is already slipping, so probably past FF15 or so, they'll be average, and by 20 or so, they'll be a joke.

And I like Summoners.

I've heard both arguements: FFXII being the last, and FFXIII being released on a future console. Would I like to see it end? HELL NO!

But there is one drawback to being an immortal series: you will (will being the operative word here) run into similarities the further on you go. Thankfully, though, S-E does an amazing job of pushing the series in new directions. Lets hope they keep it up!
